About The Team
BILL is looking for a ML engineering intern to join our team and solve challenging, data-driven problems. BILL captures a vast network of business interactions through invoicing, expense management and payment. We utilize document extraction to simplify user workflow, knowledge graphs to enhance those interactions, and a variety of machine learning models to identify fraudulent activities and guide our customers towards more efficient payment rails.
On the AI team, you will apply your ML and research knowledge to advance AI/ML usage in document extraction and network domains. You will partner with a diverse set of teams, including engineers who build the core product experience, money movement system and risk operations. You will build and deploy machine learning and deep learning models, and identify new approaches and methodologies for improving the performance of our ML applications. You will make an impact and drive the establishment of machine learning as a practice at BILL.
About The Role
- Participate in opportunity sizing for future feature development
- Participate in feature engineering and defining data requirements for different models
- Participate in building machine learning models for document data extraction, and network enhancements
- Participate in defining of the machine learning infrastructure and pipeline to build and scale machine learning at BILL (e.g feature storage, predictions and scoring)
- Define metrics for feature and model evaluation
- Explore and investigate different model types and techniques to improve machine learning performance
- Leverage various AWS technologies for building and deploying models
Skills We’re Looking For
- PhD candidate in a relevant field, preferably graduating May to August of 2024
- Expertise in Python
- Experience with deep learning (CNN models, Lambert models, NLP) and deep learning frameworks (e.g tensorflow, keras, pytorch)
- Experience in knowledge graphs, GNNs, graph databases (optional)
- Experience with GNN frameworks – DGL, PyTorch Geometric, StellerGraph, etc (optional)
- Experience with Neptune, Sparql, Gremlin, etc (optional)
- Experience with machine learning algorithms, techniques, available implementations in python (e.g NumPy, SciPy, Pandas)
- Knowledge of how to build highly scalable machine learning infrastructure
- Excellent engineering and problem solving skills. Able to write high performing, high quality code in python
- Experience with a cloud platform, preferably with AWS and Sagemaker
