The expected starting salary range for this position in New York is between $ 100,000 to $ 110,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.

Responsibilities:
We are seeking a junior-level analyst to support a senior analyst that is responsible for identifying and analyzing stressed, distressed and special situation credits in our client-facing US Distressed Credit Trading business. Distressed and Special Situations Desk Analysts conduct analysis on factors affecting the valuations of stressed and distressed bank loans, bonds and credit-default swaps to assist sales, trading and origination and help our global client base invest capital and manage exposure to risk.
Daily responsibilities will include assisting a senior analyst with the following:
- Conducting in-depth fundamental industry and company analysis and providing insight and understanding regarding special situations to clients and to our sales and trading teams
- Performing qualitative and quantitative business and financial analysis
- Performing corporate liquidity and recovery analyses
- Creating and maintaining detailed financial models
- Reviewing legal documents including credit agreements, indentures and bankruptcy filings
- Monitoring ongoing developments in public and private companies in a targeted coverage universe
- Preparing written credit analysis work product, including but not limited to presentations, one-pagers, whitepapers, etc.
- Developing and communicating investible ideas to clients and to our sales and trading teams
- Promoting and strengthening the BNP Paribas Brand
Minimum Required Qualifications

- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specific interest in complex situational and legal analysis (credit documentation, bankruptcy, etc.)
- Experience in Distressed Debt Analysis, Restructuring Banking, or comparable experience
- Working relationships with restructuring advisors and bankruptcy law firms
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or CFA accreditation
