Overview
BNY Mellon is searching for an individual who will function as a Business Data Owner. Qualified candidate should have a minimum of 5 years experience providing governance and operational support for managing data for the business. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to develop the process and artifacts including but not limited to a Data Dictionary, Data Matrix and Data Change Management process. The candidate should have experience working with multiple data systems of record. Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence is a plus. The preferred candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills; be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources; be able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance.
Responsibilities:
Define and implement a change management process for metadata.
Build and maintain a data dictionary from existing documentation.
Develop a data matrix to track data from an element on a screen to a data repository.
Support reporting team for the identification and definition of data.
Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations for corrective actions.
Constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve data integrity, eliminate data conflicts and improve change management discipline.
Skills:
Previous experience in managing data from a business perspective.
10-12 years of total work experience preferred
Strong Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence
Proven experience in executing oversight and governance of data management processes.
Proven experience in developing and implementing change management processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills.
