Boeing is seeking talented, motivated, and high performing Artificial Intelligence Software Engineers (Mid-Level and Senior) to help create technologies that will define the future of aerospace. These positions will be located in both Seattle, Washington and Tukwila, Washington.
In this position, you will collaborate with other world-class scientists, researchers, and engineers innovating on a range of technologies including: Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML), Advanced Training & Simulation, Production Analytics, Autonomy, Electro-Optical/Infrared Sensing, Cybersecurity, Disruptive Computing & Networks, and High-Fidelity Digital Twin & Virtualization. As part of Boeing Research & Technology’s (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability, our software engineers use their expertise to dream up next-generation software capabilities for amazing aerospace, satellite, and autonomy platforms.

Position Responsibilities:
Develop software engineering solutions and engineered systems
Perform research and development (R&D) in supervised and unsupervised learning
Identify, evaluate, and recommend emerging advanced technologies and provide subject matter expertise for customers
Ensure successful deployment of advanced computing technology to systems, and learn new approaches and algorithms in the field of AI
Contribute to the creation and review of software engineering and R&D proposals
Assist in forecasting computational needs and capabilities to address future business requirements and influence functional decision makers to use appropriate software and computational tools and processes
This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering and/or Computer Science
3+ years of experience with software development using JAVA, C++, or Python
3+ years of experience with machine learning
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
Experience with computer vision/perception
Experience with Reinforcement Learning, simulations, and front-end visualization
Typical Education/Experience:
Mid-Level (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Typical Education/Experience:
Senior (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work
experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
