The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate Software Engineer (level 2) based out of either Berkeley MO, Colorado Springs CO, El Segundo CA, Long Beach CA, Huntington Beach CA, North Charleston SC, Huntsville AL, Arlington VA, or Plano TX.

Find your future with us as a Level 2 Full Stack Software Engineer on the expanding Data Architecture team.

The Data Architecture team is responsible for creating a common framework for data generation, transport, and utilization paired with AI/ML capabilities for data analysis and software development. We want your help to design, implement, integrate, deliver, and promote Data Architecture frameworks to multiple programs and teams across Boeing.

You will join a team of software engineers from across the Boeing Enterprise who are developing best practices and cutting-edge solutions to deliver the best value to our customers. A successful candidate will have knowledge of or experience developing and supporting solutions in one or more of the following categories where explicit tools are representative not exhaustive:

Distributed applications using microservices

Infrastructure as code with CI/CD pipelines

Edge processing solutions

Multilayer Security protocols, zero trust, and IAM solutions

AWS/Azure/GCP IaaS, PaaS and SaaS implementation experience

Containerization (Rancher, K8s, Kubernetes)

SQL and NoSQL databases like SQL Server, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Neo4J

Messaging (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Protobuf))

Service Mesh (Istio, LinkerD)

Embedded systems

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, flexible, and will embrace continuous learning and improvement.

Position Responsibilities:
As an integral member of the team, you will be designing and implementing Data Architecture frameworks supporting spaceflight transportation, missile defense systems, bombers and fighters, or any number of other critical programs. We are looking for someone who is systematic, open-minded, adaptable, team-oriented, and well-organized.

You will be responsible for activities including but not limited to:

Design and implement an architecture for sharing data and artifacts between programs and operational data repositories

Design and implement an architecture for sharing data and artifacts between programs in the AWS Cloud environment

Design and implement an architecture for sharing data and artifacts within and among cloud-native mission systems and ground systems

Design and implement architectures to facilitate application of AI/ML concepts

Work collaboratively with software engineering teams to deploy and operate our systems

Work with geographically-dispersed interdisciplinary team of Engineering and Program Management professionals

Design and developing quality solutions

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree

1+ years of experience developing with any of the following: Java, C++, Python, Scala, or Go

Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience with Git or similar version control system

Amazon Web Services

C++

Redis

Terraform

Ansile

Istio

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:
