Data Engineer Intern
The Challenge:

As a data engineer, you have the chance to develop and deploy the pipelines and platforms that make this data meaningful. What’s more, you’ll have the chance to help grow Booz Allen’s DataOps capabilities while working with a multidisciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, data scientists, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. We’re looking for someone like you to work with our clients and meet their mission by keeping warfighters safe and operational to meet the mission.
This is an opportunity to support data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the Federal Government and DoD. Driving data models to support mission requirements, you’ll have the chance to architect data repositories, stand up data platforms, and write custom code for data ingestion, transformation, and aggregation. From performing analytical exploration and examination of data to leading the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms, you’ll guide your clients to solve their most pressing challenges. You Have:
- Experience with extract, transform, load procedures
- Experience coding in R or Python
- Experience with SQL-based query construction
- Ability to leverage expertise in data gathering, analytical, and problem-solving work
- Ability to apply critical thinking to a wide variety of problems
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Scheduled to obtain a Bachelor’s degree by Fall 2023 or Spring/Summer 2024
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with database development and architecture design
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud hosting environments
- Experience using GitHub for software development management
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Math, Statistics, or a related field preferred; pursuing a Master’s degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $45,400 to $96,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
