Overview
Boston Scientific is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager, Data Science to fill a highly visible and strategic role within the Data and Analytics team in the IT organization. This individual will manage and support offerings in the Advanced Analytics and Data Science space:
- Responsible for managing intake, onboarding, and backlog of the AI Farm Platform and Data Science projects/use cases
- Responsible for connecting business and IT stakeholders across various areas such as the AI Farm, Unified Data Platform, integrations, visualization, Analytics Studio.
- Collaborate with functional business teams to define use cases, represents the voice of the user/asset and stakeholders.
- Champion for modern data and analytics strategy and driving adoption of the AI Farm platform and Analytics Studio approach across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and facilitate an intake review process for new demand of AI/ML projects and use case assessment.
- Communicate best practices and standards for business teams onboarding to the AI platform, provide training and self-service enablement capabilities.
- Track value enablement and manage cost cross-charge commitments to business users.
- Collaborate with leadership on development and execution of advanced analytics strategic and tactical road maps.
- Align efforts across Data Strategy, Data Governance, and Platform Technology to support roadmap.
- Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Engineers and Product Managers to contribute to the overall data modeling strategy and information flow decisions
- Coordinate regular executive and organizational communications to highlight value being enabled through Data Science and the AI Farm platform at BSC.
- Incorporate Agile, Lean, and User Centered Design methodologies to execute on product development, implementation, and operations.
- Work in dedicated, co-located product teams, consisting of Product Managers, Software Engineers, Designers, and Data Scientists/Engineers.
- Establish and track measurable objectives for the team.
- Responsible for maintaining product backlog, writing user stories, product feature and design validation, product development prioritization and decisions on releases.
- Solicit input from Quality, Regulatory, Legal, Security, Privacy and other functions to deliver compliant solutions in an agile manner.
- Serve as the interface between the team and the business. Represent the Product Owner, Stakeholders and functions in all team discussions.
- Manage and communicate project status to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Promotes and supports the principles and standards of the enterprise architecture and enterprise supported technologies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science or Software Engineering, related technical degree
- 10+ years experience in program/product management, 5+ years experience in Advanced Analytics, Data Science, AI/ML projects
- Have broad experience and expertise working with various technologies such as Python, SQL, R, SAS, Apache Spark MLib, Scala, BigML, D3, MATLAB, Google AI, Google Analytics, TensorFlow, Microsoft CNTK, Tableau and other frameworks and libraries for AI
- Demonstrated experience with Data and Analytics implementations and/or data and reporting projects.
- Experience managing program financials, operational budgets, vendor relationships, contracts and negotiations.
- Experience with software development life cycle, Waterfall, Agile and Dev/Ops methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to clearly communicate with management, business leaders and senior leadership in both written and oral communication.
- Ability to communicate highly technical solutions to business partners at their level of technical understanding.
- Excellent organizational skills, experience leading large development teams and strategic initiatives.
- Deep and broad knowledge of multiple technologies with extensive knowledge of the capabilities and constraints of technologies supported.
- Understanding of environmental shifts in technology and the impact against products.
- Understanding of the full breadth of needs for a solution to be brought to market (infrastructure, QA, UA, security, etc.).
- Able to work on a team in person and in a collaborative virtual settings; self-motivated, self-directed, adaptable.
- Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.
- Proven experience working in a regulated environment with quality systems which includes strong documentation skills.
