Position Summary

Will work directly with managers from the Data and Analytics (D&A) Data Governance Organization (DGO) and engineers to support data quality and cataloging processes as it relates to the Central Data Platform (CDP) hosted on AWS.
This includes developing logic that will assess the quality of data provided by DGO’s Data Quality managers and validating the accuracy of the business to technical translation across all the data assets in CDP. The primary goal for this role is to ensure high quality data is maintained in the data platform.

Responsibilities


  • Use pre-built functions or build functions to translate requirements derived from business use cases into logically derived criteria to run daily metrics.


  • Troubleshoot and performance tune data management code in AWS.


  • Work in conjunction with Data Quality Managers, Developers and Data Engineers to ensure high quality data assets.


  • Working with the development teams from different groups in the organization, help identify inconsistent data patterns, and how they are manifested from the source processes.


  • Promote and support the infrastructure of reporting, analytics, and data sourcing strategy; this includes developing and advancing standards and best practices and recommending infrastructure changes when appropriate.


  • Perform ongoing monitoring and refinement of data platform, as it related to DGO’s data quality and cataloging work.


  • Design and implement solutions to improve data platform, as it related to DGO’s data quality and cataloging work.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science and Information Systems, Database Management, Big Data, Data Engineering, Data Science, Applied Math, etc.


  • Works with system owners to resolve source data issues and refine transformation rules


  • Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze, profile and validate data to identify potential data quality issues.


  • Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Glue, DynamoDB and validation experience on AWS databases Redshift/Aurora.


  • Experience with XML, JSON, Parquet, CSV, etc.


  • 5+ years of professional data analytics working experience. Experience with SAP data is a plus.


  • 5+ years of experience in writing complex SQL queries and/or Python/R scripts. Knowledge of RegEx functions a plus.


  • 2+ years of experience working with large data and variety of data sources including API sourced data.


Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
