Job Location: Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area

The ETL Developer for the Data Warehouse Production Support Team will work alongside special projects developers to maintain stable operations for the data applications and platforms supporting the company’s data ecosystem, while helping to ensure consistency with company strategy and goals.

Start Date: January 2023

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the troubleshooting of ETL processes
  • Update and implement ETL code to maximize efficiency and reduce batch incidents
  • Provide Incident and Problem Management support for data applications and platforms
  • Work with teams to document production issues that require code fixes and assist with validating and closing out any defects
  • Update and manage Runbooks and Maintenance Reference Manuals in Support Handbook
  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for application platform issues
  • Help in managing customer impacting incidents including business impact assessment, technical resolution, engagement, and communications
  • Update ticket resolution status and details in the ticket management system(s)
  • Respond to user requests and queries
  • Escalate incidents to Level 2/3 development team as needed with summary analysis
  • Escalate incidents to appropriate interfacing support team or external teams such as product vendors, Update knowledgebase with support information (ex. Known errors and solutions for these errors)
  • Provide clarifications on data issues identified in the application
  • Work with the team and individually to identify and conceptualize process improvement activities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Related Field.
  • Strong SQL aptitude
  • Familiarity with Data Warehousing concepts/principles
  • Experience in working with structured data (e.g., ETL development, data analytics, SQL, etc)
  • Strong business and technology aptitude with a willingness to learn and understand business and software solutions
  • Strong drive and interest to learn new systems, applications, technology, and business domains
  • Excellent verbal and written communications; ability to explain project risks and issues, and technical concepts clearly and concisely
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and to work collaboratively with all business and IT areas
  • Ability to multitask while effectively prioritizing and executing tasks
  • High level of professionalism and confidence with the ability to build credibility with team members and business partners.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Python, DataStage, or both
  • A good understanding of project lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Iterative, Agile/Scrum) and project management processes and standards
