We are looking for a Sustainability Data Analyst to join our Group Sustainability Operations team.
This is an exciting permanent role based in India and a chance to join a growing team that is transforming how BSI embeds its own data into the decision-making of its own operations.
The role will be mostly home-based, with very little need to attend office (around once a month, unless required for mandatory training).
We are looking for an experienced data analyst with an exceptional eye for detail to assist our sustainability teams with internal greenhouse gas and environmental data reporting.
The sustainability team works closely with our global colleagues on our sustainable operating plan to ensure that BSI is an exemplar of best sustainability practice. This role will focus on data collection for Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas data in accordance with the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064, and SECR, supporting BSI’s path to Net Zero by 2030. This role will additionally focus on wider environmental data, e.g., waste, water, and circular economy.
In this role, you will be working with global utilities and travel data to enable accurate and timely reporting. You will also be dealing directly with our global real estate partners to retrieve important GHG reporting information and engage in improvement measures.
Finally, you will be working with global expense/travel providers to strengthen our relationships and improve our reporting process.
This role requires someone who is tenacious, has a passion for seeking out information, problem-solving and has experience working on successful global projects with many moving parts.

Key Responsibilities
- Conducting carbon reporting. This includes:
- Sourcing greenhouse gas data from our global reporting contacts and assuring its accuracy/quality. This involves liaising with BSI colleagues, expense systems, and travel partners to collect data
- Ensuring that our global GHG reporting contacts conform to our data collection processes
- Flagging data reporting issues and anomalies
- Data transformation of large data sets
- Environmental data collection and analysis
- Project management
- Timely delivery of GHG data: this requires an advanced understanding of excel in order to transform and manage large data sets. It also requires an understanding of GHG reporting requirements
- Relationship management with our reporting contacts
Education/Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in mathematical/science-based subject
Knowledge & Experience
- Demonstrable experience in data analysis
- Tenacious data gathering/ adherence to deadlines
- Strong mathematical and analytical background
- Excellent project management skills with a proven track-record of success on global projects
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Access and excellent IT skills
- Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
- The ability to effectively manage relationships with third-party stakeholders
- Experience using Concur Expense
- Understanding of the GHG protocol/ISO 14064 and reporting requirements (Desirable)
- Experience managing travel reporting data and liaising with travel agents for information (Desirable)
- Experience using procurement systems (Desirable)
- Experience using Basware, SAP and/or Ajera (Desirable)
Skills & Abilities
- Experience working with large, multinational companies, either in-house or in a consultancy
- Experience in engagement and communications with multiple stakeholders
- Experience using reporting software e.g. Basware, Concur, Amex etc.
- Excellent communication skills in English
