About this role
- The role is in BT Digital focusing on supporting AI and Data Science development, deployment and maintenance of data products.
- You will collaborate with senior data analysts and data scientists.
- You can take part in the data science process end-to-end.
- You will work closely with business stakeholders as member of a squad.
You’ll have the following responsibilities
- Responsible for successful scoping and delivery (full end-to-end) of data science projects against defined cost/people/service metrics for BT’s Global Services division. These projects will have very senior levels of visibility and typically have significant business impacte.g. multi-million pound targets that must be delivered to underpin the business plan.
- Working alongside BT Technology to define and industrialise data science methods & disciplines within the organisation and be a key representative for BT’s Global Services division as an SME. This means that the role holder will play a key role not only in delivering significant projects but also helping BT to become a more data driven organisation whereby data becomes a source of competitive advantage.
- Providing support, coaching and direction to a team of analysts and junior data scientists to enhance effectiveness and improve the yield of projects.
- Managing senior stakeholders and executives up to MD & CEO level, and ensure buy-in to a data driven approach. Will be required to tell a compelling story to non-technical as well as technical audiences.
- Proactively staying close to the latest academic progress with regards to data science/analytics and data science, and ensure that best practices are maintained in BT
You’ll have the following skills & experience
- Technical skillsadvanced Python scripting/development for data science, SQL/Hive, ideally Jupyter Notebooks, collaboration/version control in Git Lab.
- Statistical skillshypothesis testing, regression testing, error analysis, confidence intervals, etc.
- Machine learningSupervised/unsupervised learning, time series analysis, feature selection, clustering, natural language processing, neural networks.
- Experience with cloud environments like GCP, AWS, CI/CD tools like gitlab-runner, experience with Docker, Kubernetes
- AcademicBE/BTech Mandatory
- Working with a cooperative and positive attitude in a group setting to achieve common goals
- Proven experience in delivering effective and engaging presentations to a variety of audiences
