Roles and Responsibilities
- Major Responsibilities
- Develop deep functional understanding of the existing applications per assignment
- Create supporting documents for existing key applications where current documents are incomplete or need refresh
- Closely work with the program managers, business analysts and project managers in HO as well as project managers, delivery manager and other team members in SSC
- Participate in knowledge transition sessions where required
- Analyse, translate and simplify user requirements
- Perform gap analysis with existing functionality and recommend solutions
- Requirements documentation: create functional specifications and prepare process flowcharts as per prevalent documentation standards
- Work closely with IS team during development and support phases to ensure the product is being developed/ maintained as per the specifications
- Facilitate change and configuration management where required
- Prepare functional user documents, system configuration documents and other required support and process documents
- Maintain and prioritize incidents and change requests backlog, and provide functional details to project teams and help them prioritize implementation
- Assist the delivery team in identifying critical application functionalities and support the testing team in developing test scenarios, test cases and test data
- Test and coordinate deployment of deliverables provided by IS-IT teams
- Prepare end-users content for release notes
- Provide and update procedural documentation for recurrent problems and questions
- Identify improvement areas for M&O applications in terms of usability, end-user productivity and efficiency, and translate them into functional requirement documents
- Publish requirements related KPIs as per defined process and track them to ensure performance in accordance with expected standards
- Contribute towards new project ideas
- In addition to the assigned ongoing work, contribute in new initiatives since the early stages to ensure these initiatives can either be spun off as new projects or dropped from the projects list due to specific reasons
- Guide junior team members – functional analysts, business analysts and possible others in delivering work assigned to them
- Streamline current processes and establish new ones if required, for M&O SSC as well as overall IS/IT and Digital Office teams
Desired Candidate Profile
- Qualification
– Bachelors degree in Engineering/ IT/ Computers/ Management/ Science or Commerce
– MBA will be an added advantage
- Experience
– 8+ years of experience in similar role having written functional specifications and participated in complete project lifecycle in application development and support
– Experience with digital applications is a must, experience with operations tools would be a strong plus
– Experience of working closely with project stakeholders from client location(s) outside India is essential
– Experience in documenting as-is and target processes and procedures
– Experience in animating international network of applications users will be an advantage
Experience in business process management will be an advantage
