In this role our Manager of Business Intelligence – Shortage Control will protect company assets and reduce inventory shortage by supporting the management of the Shortage Control Business Intelligence team and oversee the analysis of shortage-related data and answer strategic questions regarding shortage control, merchandise protection, safety, and profitability. Our manager will also provide regular business reporting and ad-hoc analytics to track trends and understand what’s driving them and oversee Shortage Control’s reporting and analytics databases and systems utilizing insights from key stakeholders to create compelling dashboards and tools. This role is critical in building the innovative tools, strategy, and vision for the Shortage Control Business Intelligence team.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and develop Business Intelligence database applications and analytical tools to automate, measure, analyze, and report Shortage Control metrics
- Reduce inventory shortage by measuring, analyzing, and strategizing shortage control tools, programs, and strategies
- Deliver critical reporting and analysis of shortage control metrics, and drive improvements in shortage control processes and procedures and set the standards for shortage performance through accurate measurement of metrics, timely reporting and analytics, and setting goals for expected performance
- Lead weekly and monthly reporting on business metrics that illuminate areas of focus for the organization. This includes using compelling dashboards and tools to identify and communicate key metrics, trends, and areas of opportunity
- Identify, recommend, and implement changes to current EAS standards and processes and propose EAS investments as necessary through ROI calculations and business cases
- Develop best practices for piloting shortage control initiatives by engaging Strategy to help create test store list, collaborating with Store Operations to measure and/or verify EAS tagging labor standards, etc
Experience:
- BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar analytic field of study required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience focused on strategy, analytics and project management of reporting/analytical systems required. Proficiency building and setting up business intelligence and data management processes, dashboards, tools, architectures, and data tables is strongly preferred. Experience in retail Shortage Control, Asset Protection, and/or Operations preferred
- Experience developing Business Intelligence Analysts to engage, stretch, and grow.
- Experience working with large data sets and data visualization and business analytical tools – PowerBI, Tableau, MicroStrategy would be nice to have
- Intermediate to advance experience with Excel
