Senior Analyst, Market Intelligence Team

The Senior Analyst position is an integral part of the Market Intelligence team and is expected to

contribute to the organization and manage day-to-day execution of client projects. Senior Analysts will be responsible for research set up, advanced information gathering, analysis, business / report writing and assisting in presentation of findings, while managing ones own activities as well as those of project team members. Senior Analysts must possess deep analytical, creative thinking ability, strong technical skills and robust communications skills, including client facing communications and presentations. A successful Senior Analysts should be able to achieve project objectives with limited oversight from their manager, identify business implications and derive strategic recommendations. This position reports to an Engagement Manager (or Senior Engagement Manager) in the Market Intelligence team, with focus on

growing subject matter expertise, improving client facing skills and efficient, independent operation in pursuit of project objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate the Market Research Process

a. Understand and execute the research process and steps involved in conducting market

research projects

b. Independently manage timelines and effectively work to meet established project timelines

c. Manage the overall process of achieving project objectives and goals related to projects and

tasks assigned to the India team

d. Design, manage, implement, and oversee quality control processes for information gathering,

and data analysis throughout research process

e. Identify and resolve potential issues in research process and bring to managers attention

f. Understand and apply knowledge to Ducker Carlisles business-to-business research practices

and project types, pertaining to Customer Insights and Surveys using both qualitative and

quantitative methods

g. Coach and direct junior team members on proper execution of research methodologies

2. Data and Information Gathering Process

a. Conduct necessary in-depth fieldwork

b. Independently develop or manage the development of contacts to support the project team

c. Work independently on multiple projects at one time, with oversight from the project lead

d. Design and write research instruments (quantitative and qualitative)

e. Monitor and guide information gathering process of the team including thorough quality

control of data

f. Understanding of methods for data analytics and its application to research findings

g. When relevant, determine sample sizes and other critical methodology elements for

research efforts

h. Pre-test interview outlines and other fieldwork tools, direct and coach others on the process

i. Act as the point of contact with external vendors, participating in negotiations and problem

solving

j. Conduct secondary research data collection using various secondary sources, guide team

members on proper method for secondary searches; process and summarize insights from

secondary research efforts

3. Analysis and Report Writing

a. Independently design and execute analysis approach to support clients business objectives

and/or specific project task objectives

b. Understand, interpret, and analyze fieldwork results, secondary findings, and client-reported

data while providing ideas and reasoning behind the recommendations

c. Apply research insights to study objectives

d. Organize information sets to support modeling, segmentation, charting, other deliverables

relevant to client objectives while providing ideas, reasoning, and business acumen to support

strategic recommendations

e. Work with project manager to develop story lines, outcomes/deliverables and write a

complete report with client ready slides that tie back to project objectives

f. Apply business/report writing skills, standards in written work

g. Understanding of business environment, and market dynamics in analysis design

4. Client Experience and Meetings (Client includes external as well as internal clients)

a. Interact directly and independently with the client with minimum oversight and provide input

to, and/or entire updates on, project progress

b. Attend all client meetings and presentations including presentation of body of report and

actively sharing insights during discussions

5. Other duties as required

Key Additional Competencies:

• Understanding and application of research process and execution steps

• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, experience writing presentations in PowerPoint and Word

• Understanding of both qualitative and quantitative primary research methodologies, but with an

emphasis on Market Intelligence (qualitative) methodologies; proven proficiency with multiple

research methodologies

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau

• Ability to suggest methodologies for project implementation

• Demonstrated curiosity and attention to detail

• Evaluating, aggregating, and market modeling information in support of client business goals

• Understanding the impact and relevance of such information in a business context, not just as

data

• Ability to articulate clear conclusions from datasets

Qualifications:

• At least five years experience working in a professional business environment, preferably in a

B2B market research environment

• A Bachelors degree within a discipline requiring a strong analytical aptitude such as: finance,

economics, engineering. Post-graduation in management is a plus

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with professionals and executives

• Preference for candidates focused on Buy-side Advisory/Commercial Due Diligence with

relevant industry experience: exposure / case work in M & A or related experience; experience

with or exposure to Private Equity transactions, Corporate Development, or private lending,

where commercial diligence is an element of transaction evaluation
