Job Description:
The Payroll Analyst performs tasks to support the accurate Time and Payroll processing for the Company employees. The position reviews payroll records for accuracy and conducts audits of employees’ records. The position is located at San Jose, CA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support Managed Services (Alight) on bi-weekly payroll to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time using the Workday System
- Review payroll records for accuracy and ensure they meet federal, state tax, union requirements
- Audit payroll information according to established payroll cut off and processing schedules
- Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets; track and deduct all garnishments and other payroll deductions
- Conducts audits of employee time record to ensure compliance with all wage and hour laws
- Work with HR to ensure new hires, job changes, terminations, status changes, LOAs, tax changes, deductions, direct deposits, pay changes, retroactive adjustments, and special pay are properly recorded in the payroll system and documented
- Coordinates review with department managers and ensure both employee and supervisor approve any adjustments
- Support Payroll Year End activities
- Work with third party vendor and process any tax adjustments that are required
- Collaborate with internal partners including HR, Treasury, Accounting, Internal Audit, Tax and Stock program
- Assist with Payroll Journals and Reconciliations to GL
- Perform reconciliation of data between Workday and the third party systems Workday integrates with
- Support with month end and quarter end accounting close
- Review and analyze data quality in WD system
- Support with payroll taxes and making sure they are resolved in a timely manner
- Assist with internal and external audits such as SOX and 401(k) audits
- Support wage payment and resolve any ACH returns or checks issue
- Assist with final payments for terminated employee or pay corrections
- Conduct peer audit review
- Identify and implement process improvement for payroll
- Work with benefits to ensure deductions and employee change are capture correctly
- Ensure timely and effective resolution of payroll matter
- Work with Stock team and assist with RSU and ESPP purchase
- Respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience
- Four years working in payroll or similar roles
- Knowledge of state and federal payroll and tax regulations
- Experience with payroll software such as PeopleSoft or Workday
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills to interact with supervisor, coworkers, all levels of employees and suppliers
- Proficient with Microsoft applications, strong spreadsheet skills to perform analytical work
- Valid Driver license
Salary Range $72,700 – $131,400
