Carrier Corporation is seeking a Lead Engineer for Data Analytics and Machine Learning within the Systems & Solutions Engineering organization. This Lead Engineer role will have the responsibility to support the definition and execution of data analytics within Fire & Security product lines.
Specific responsibilities for this position will be:
- Collect data from IoT platform, perform data quality check and filtering techniques
- Organize large-scale data to the required formats for data analysis for different service business use cases.
- Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
- Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
- Develop tools of visualization and dashboard to illustrate the data analysis results.
- Deploy analytics algorithms to the cloud-based IoT platform (e.g., Microsoft Azure, PTC, AWS etc.).
- Support the development of end-to-end cloud-based analytics solution implementation.
Education
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or Engineering with 5 years of experience
Experience/Qualifications
Required Technical Skills/Education:
- Excellent understanding of data mining, machine learning techniques and algorithms
Knowledge on statistical programming languages, including but not limited to R, Python, SLQ, etc., to process data and gain insights from it
Strong coding experience: C/C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.
- Solid background in database management tools such as SQL
- Broad set of technical skills and expertise in machine learning focused on cutting edge technologies such as IoT, artificial intelligence (AI), and cloud computing.
- Familiar with IoT framework and experience in implementing analytics algorithms in any of the cloud-based platforms – Azure, PTC, AWS.
- Fluent English (both written and spoken), solid technical writing, presentation and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of building Fire safety and security systems a plus
Preferred Technical Skills/Education:
- Strong hands-on experience in an analytics environment and applications.
- Strong hands-on experience in collecting, filtering, organizing, and analyzing large-scale dataset using cloud-based platform.
- Strong hands-on experience in implementing analytics algorithms to cloud-based IoT platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred).
- Strong hands-on experience with the following libraries from Python: Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, SALib.
- Familiar with vectorized implementation of analytics algorithms.
- Experience with developing end-to-end analytics solution using Python or cloud-based implementation is a plus.

This candidate must be highly motivated, organized, self-driven, and able to function in a global team environment (USA, China, India, and Europe) and demonstrate problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
This position will be located in Hyderabad, India.
