About The Role

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is a business-technology liaison position on the DealerRater team tasked with helping us grow through data-driven insights and opportunity discovery. In this dynamic role you will dive into our data to uncover opportunities for experience optimization and customer value delivery. You will also enable stakeholders with actionable, insightful measurement & performance reporting that guides the business through growth goals.

The ideal candidate will have a robust mix of technical and communication skills, with a passion for optimization, data storytelling, and data visualization. You will collaborate with teams across the organization including Product, Technology, Marketing, Finance, and senior leadership to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery and to translate business needs into analytics/reporting requirements. This role will also have responsibility for data stewardship over data and metrics most important to business constituents, to improve data accuracy, viability, and value.

This role will act as a coach and consultant to the business with the goal of increasing the utilization of data and analytics throughout.

Job Functions

  • Extract and analyze data and build reporting via Google Analytics, SQL, Tableau, and other tools.
  • Synthesize data from our analytics tools and database into actionable insights. Clearly communicate these recommendations to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Drive the standardization of data metrics and KPIs leveraging business process and data knowledge.
  • Create compelling, intuitive dashboards to enable the business with critical metrics, with a focus on data automation, anomaly detection, and actionable data visualizations.
  • Help drive accuracy and consistency in data and reporting. Work with the product, technology, and/or operations teams to identify new data needs and ensure accuracy in existing data and reporting.
  • Facilitate the prioritization of projects in consideration of competing business interests.
  • Execute ad-hoc reports for management team and end users.

Experience & Education

  • 3+ years professional experience as a BI Analyst or Data Analyst
  • Experience with statistical analysis and modeling is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in a quantitative or business-related field such as economics, statistics, finance, mathematics, or marketing is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • SQL
  • Tableau power user
  • Analytics tools such as Google Analytics (preferred) or Adobe Analytics.
  • Data visualization tools such as Tableau (preferred), Power BI, Looker, Domo, or R-Shiny
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • A/B Testing tools and concepts such as Optimizely (preferred) or Adobe Target
