Job Description:

Data Scientist II, Caterpillar Logistics Inc., Morton IL

Responsible for large datasets/data modeling including designing and architecting for Operational Enablement Insights using programing and processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis. Responsible for technical analysis of new requests and feature requirements analyzing new business requirements with internal customers to gather requirement, analyze, and convert into technical requirements design identifying optimal coding structure for technical development; Will develop work making the design of Oracle Tables, Views, Materialized Views Queries and Stored Procedures for the Oracle database coordinated with DBA’s until deployment into production environment, developing Centralized Data Warehouse to Extraction, Transformation & Loading(ETL) the data from different Source Systems into Transportation Data Management(TDM) Oracle System(database) and data discovery environments. Integrates external systems using sterling integrator and internal data with FTP accounts to load data into Oracle tables; Troubleshoots, debugs, assists with product support and Research & Development; Explores predictive modeling, Machine learning, and advanced statistical methods to design, develop, and implement data-driven solutions.

Requires a Masters Degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related and 2 years progressive experience working with large data sets using industry standard tools (SAS, Oracle, DataStage, and Python); Java; analyzing predictive modeling or machine learning techniques; 1 year of progressive experience with SQL.

Alternatively, will accept a Bachelors Degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related and 5 years of progressive experience working with large data sets using industry standard tools (SAS, Oracle, DataStage, and Python); Java; analyzing predictive modeling or machine learning techniques; 1 year of progressive experience with SQL.
