Job Description:
Cost Analyst – Electrical & Electronics Cost Reduction Team
As a Cost Analyst, You will have the opportunity to contribute to towards CAT-Electronics Cost Reduction, OPACC Improvement, & Financial Goals while strengthening your knowledge of Cost Management, Cost Modeling, Supplier Negotiation, Strategic Sourcing, Aftermarket, and Business Financials. This Position will be responsible for detailed cost analysis on electrical and electronics components & system as well as identifying and executing cost projects within the enterprise. The cost analyst will work with Engineering leaders, Business Resources, Component Engineers, Product Group System Engineers & Buyers globally located with the various cross functional teams.
The Position will be a diverse role, working with various internal business process partners in engineering, procurement, accounting & pricing. The person will rationalize cost reduction project, solicit feedback from senior leaders and work within the established cost reduction framework. In this role you will be an integral part of the team focused on continuous improvement and driving towards creating enterprise value through detailed cost focused strategic focus. You’ll be the go-to person for cost analysis and you’ll get to prepare reports to help management make better decisions. To do this job well, we’d like you to be well-versed in data and financial analysis, and have strong attention to detail.
Job Duties / Responsibilities May Include but not limited to :
- Actively Participate in Mutli-disciplinary team(s) through the evaluation, categorization and rationalization of electrical & electronics component families and identification of Cost improvement projects to meet enterprise goals.
- Gather and analyse financial data / Spend Data/ Sourcing Data/ Price Data
- Determine Cost Disparities and investigate variances
- Prepare detailed Business insight reports, both periodically and ad-hoc
- Help management make important decisions based on costs and benefits (e.g. investments, budget , resources, pricing changes)
- Create and manage budgets, and monitor spending
- Estimate product costs for existing and new products through BOM analysis
Required Skill
- Bachelors or Associate Degree in an accredited Engineering , Purchasing, Business , Analytics or Similar Field
- 2 or more years of experience working with technical or financial teams
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills that can quickly spot data relationships, trends, disparities & outliers
- Skilled in Microsoft office / PowerPoint/ Work Flow/ Excel/ PowerBi or Tableau / Hands on Experience SQL or Phyton or R-Scripting.
- Good Financial Aptitude & Attitude to quickly adapt to change
- Proven Team Collaboration and Interpersonal Skills
