Job Description
Summary: Cboe Data and Access Solutions “DnA” is a data and analytics division of Cboe with a broad suite of sophisticated products and services designed to help clients navigate the markets. The Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions Architect will work within the Risk and Market Analytics Group (“RMA”). The role will be responsible for assessment of business requirements, technical architecture and design and the subsequent implementation of the technology solutions required to facilitate a BI ecosystem for existing/future DnA business data sources. The goal is to enable DnA Teams to maximize their BI capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an expanding team who are seeking to optimize their BI stack.
Responsibilities
Interact with key stakeholders to understand the overall BI requirements.
Design and development of a BI ecosystem based on the project requirements including, as required, identification of technologies to employ
Design and development of ETL integration pipelines for the ecosystem
Design the semantic layer in consultation with stakeholders
Develop and implement the data integration based on agreed design and prioritization
Prepare the test plan to test data and functionality of the ETL flows
Perform unit testing, UAT Support and provide ongoing support of the ecosystem
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a STEM field
7+ years experience
Essential Skills/Experience:
Prior experience working on BI Projects
Must have expertise and understanding of various technologies and services typically used in a BI ecosystem
Must have experience in designing and developing BI pipelines
Programming skills in Java and SQL; and working knowledge of R, Python or similar language for working with data
Strong understanding of dashboarding and reporting best practices and an ability to define and design a semantic layer based on the dashboard requirements
Experience with BI reporting tools such as Tableau
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP
Good understanding of deployment strategies such as Data lake using AWS ecosystem
Previous experience in datawarehouse databases like Teradata, Snowflake, BigQuery
Strong understanding of SQL and should be independently able to write complex SQLs, views required for dashboards
Strong data analysis and profiling skills leveraging SQL and other profiling tools and should be able to identify data related patterns and trends for a requirement
Proficiency with Excel, Word and Powerpoint
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrable ability to work as a self-starter requiring limited supervision, with a strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively across projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Able to fit into an organization where strong interpersonal and team skills are essential
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Understanding of AWS IAM concepts and deployment
Understanding of services like S3, AWS Glue/DataBrew, Quicksight, Athena and Sagemaker
Understanding of AWS network security setup
Experience with ETL tools like Datastage
Proficient in MS Project, JIRA and Confluence (OR Similar).
Proficiency with Windows, Linux command line
Familiar with software development and change management best practices
