A Moving Experience.

The Software Developer will be responsible for the development, improvement, and maintenance of the databases used by the BI Analytics team. You will need to understand the dataflow into our pipelines and monitor/manage the databases to ensure they are performant, accessible, and always maintained. You will work with our Power BI developer and other developers to coordinate changes, conduct testing, and implement modifications/new capabilities. You will also need to participate in internal team discussions as well as collaboration with our Customer Service Managers and Business Operations teams.

Essential Functions/Job Requirements

  • Handle backup and recovery, performance issues, and management of SQL Server databases

  • Author and maintain SQL Server Agent scheduled Jobs

  • Author and maintain SSIS or ADF solutions

  • Providing schema solutions and queries to enable efficient data access

  • Assist with evaluating various tests for different environments and tasks

  • Investigate and analyze reported data issues

  • Attend daily Business Analytics Program (BAP) scrum meetings and weekly sprint reviews

  • Contribute to writing/maintaining technical documentation

  • Passion for analyzing data to solve problems and improve systems

  • Passion for solving tough technical challenges and delivering quality products that meets end user requirements

  • Self-motivated, self-directed and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communicator – verbal and written

  • Fast learner who works well in a team environment

  • Good at cross group collaboration

  • Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand (i.e. daily standup and other team meetings), especially since the project team is managed from the Eastern Time Zone of the United States

Minimum Required Education/Experience ( 3-5 Years)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • 3-5 years of industry experience, hands-on database development projects

  • Fluency in Microsoft SQL DB technologies and tools: SQL DWH, SSIS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with agile software delivery methodologies such as Scrum

  • Experience with Power BI integration/use of data a plus

  • Experience with Azure a plus

  • Experience with JIRA a plus
