Position Description

CGI Federal is looking to add to a very diverse team of functional, technical, and development experts that work in an AGILE environment to create a unified system that supports our Trust Land Products.

The ideal candidate for this position is a problem solver. As a Business Analyst, you will use your knowledge, skills, and abilities to solve organizational information challenges and will use your critical thinking skills to identify client requirements and translate those into detailed instructions for your development team to execute. The ideal Business Analyst also has strong writing and communication skills, and is able to build relationships with both their team members and clients.

Your future duties and responsibilities

You will closely work with client business owners/stakeholders to understand their vision, document it and help identifying the priority and business value of the requirements. As a Software Business Analyst your focus is the requirement gathering, interacting with CGI management, development, training and test teams to make sure that all requirements are understood and clear. The requirements need to be validated and verified for the base project planning. Business Analyst forms a bridge between the service that CGI provides and the needs of the client.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

With direction from the CGI Program Manager and in collaboration with team members, the responsible are:

  • Analyzing business and user needs and document requirements.
  • Working with key project stakeholders to formulate and communicate the client’s requirements, and to scope the project
  • Gathering high-level requirements (business, functional and technical) using collaborative, face-to-face workshops with the customers, stakeholders and the development team
  • Working with clients and development team to translate the requirements into user stories that are understandable by developers
  • Working with the Program Manager, Business Owners and development team to bridge the gap in understanding the vision and requirements
  • Helping in Domain Modelling, Feature Analysis and Dependency Analysis
  • Prioritizing product backlog in collaboration with the Product Manager
  • Conducting planning and review meetings with the CGI team and client
  • Working with development team in creating story boards to facilitate requirements
  • Preparing meeting minutes to be distributed to a variety of audiences and participants
  • Validating and Verifying user stories for accuracy and completeness
  • Preparing and maintaining project deliverables, documents and artifacts
  • Create user stories/use cases, process & data flows and scenario in order to clearly communicate a set of functional requirements
  • Development of Design and Technical Documents
  • Develop high fidelity wireframes and functionality mockups for internal and external use to ensure accurate and complete user stories and thoughtful design
  • Provide input and support the development of business and functional specifications. Document to ensure business requirements are adequately reflected in development documents
  • Identify solutions to resolve business problems for internal and external customers by utilizing problem solving and analytical skills and documenting the “why” and “what” of the business problem
  • Works with the development resources and QA resource to facilitate system testing
  • In conjunction with the QA Analyst and development team, identifies user acceptance and based on business requirements, creates expected results for use in test cycles
  • Act as liaison amount clients and CGI technical stall
  • Excellent analysis and logic skills
  • Excellent communication and interviewing skills
  • Excellent perception and understanding skills in order to understand what the clients require
  • Good writing skills in order to prepare reports
  • Excellent decision making skills in order to decide the most important requirements of the clients
  • Ability to evaluate all the information gathered critically
  • Good computer skills in order to prepare graphic reports and make presentations
  • Must be organized and meticulous in work
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding about the technical functions of the company
  • Good understand of the clients business

Requirement education and qualification

  • Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or MIS, preferred
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Agile experience and a broad range of IT knowledge/experience is required.
  • Flexibility is a must, as well as the ability to work in a collaborative team environment, including remote team members
  • Experience in conducting discovery and requirements gathering sessions and documenting business requirements
