Chalice is a 2 year old, funded, digital advertising startup that provides software for developing and deploying custom algorithms and reporting for Brands and Advertising Agencies. We like to say that algorithms are just decisioning rules, and Brands should be able to write those rules for their own business interests. We empower marketers with the ability to use AI to create business rules that maximizes their desired business outcomes.
Our client list includes large brands that you know, with significant revenue growth in our sales pipeline. We are rapidly growing and looking to add a junior data scientist to our team. For this role, we are looking to hire a junior data scientist to work with our Data Science team to help build out our capabilities. An ideal candidate is focused on learning, scaling, and agility with experience using SageMaker to build ML models. We expect that they will have a portfolio of projects that demonstrates their expertise. The role is temp to perm over the first three months of employment. The job is remote, but requires that you are on the Eastern or Central time zone.
You will:
- Analyze raw data: assessing quality, cleansing, structuring for downstream processing
- Design accurate and scalable prediction algorithms
- Collaborate with engineering team to bring analytical prototypes to production
- Contribute to define and executing Chalice’s data science roadmap.
- Work with the Chief Data Scientist/CTO, Head of Data Science, and technology team to identify required capabilities, as relates to data science function, and define the technical requirements for Chalice’s infrastructure.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments to improve client campaign performance.
- Leverage industry best practices to establish repeatable applied data science practices, principles & processes.
- Identify new Algorithms/approaches to optimization as relates to Digital Advertising
You have:
- Recent graduate or almost finished completed your BS/MA/PhD. in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Math, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or similar field.
- 0-2+ years’ experience in data science roles. Specific expertise in ML algorithms such as using XGBoost and Random Forest required with experience in development of deep learning models desired. Expertise using SageMaker is preferred but not expected.
- Good understanding of SQL and high level of Python expertise required.
- Advanced knowledge of statistics (not just ML), especially as it relates to hypothesis testing.
- Must have excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills (both written and verbal.)
- Ability to work well cross-functionally and handle organizational complexities and manage competing priorities.
- Passion for solving large data problems.
