GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Data & Business Analyst II will play an integral role in the development of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence technological solutions for ChemTreat.
The Data & Business Analyst II will perform various tasks that support the delivery of innovative solutions that provide timely, accurate, and meaningful information to data consumers and decision makers.
Utilizing the appropriate processes and digital tools, this role will perform business requirements gathering,
data modeling and data validation. The Data & Business Analyst II will also build, implement, and maintain visualizations (e.g., reports, charts, graphs, dashboards).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, schedule and conduct meetings to develop Project Charters, inclusive of business objectives, goals, scope definition and deliverable milestones
Plan, schedule and perform business requirement gathering activities; understand and articulate customer business needs
Document business, technical, and operational requirements
Lead requirements categorization and prioritization process, as well as stakeholder approvals/sign-offs
Develop and maintain data flow diagrams and business process diagrams
Develop, test, implement and maintain queries to satisfy business, technical and operational requirements
Analyze and translate business requirements into data models
Design and deliver conceptual, logical and physical data models
Develop and deliver data visualizations (e.g., general/paginated reports, analytics, charts, graphs, dashboards)
Develop test scripts or cases and perform data validation
Deliver prototypes or proof of concepts in support of data discovery activities
Analyze complex problems, challenges, and drive to root cause
Lead the effort to identify and document internal and external data sources
Participate in metadata strategy development
Document and maintain metadata
Participate in training strategy development
Develop training materials and conduct user training
Proactively seek out opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills and understand strategy and vision and how to support them through daily decisions and actions
Routinely seek customer feedback and incorporate it into strategies and action plans
Pursue continuous improvement of business processes, using industry “best practices”
Perform other duties as assigned
SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and support Danaher Business Systems (DBS) activities (e.g., PSP, Kaizen, etc.)
Lead Daily/Visual Management activities
Monitor and track project requests and maintains the Project Request Tracker (PRT)
Monitor, track and respond to Cherwell tickets (e.g., access request, problems/issues, general questions)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
4-year degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science or equivalent.
Experience working in a Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence environment
Experience facilitating meetings
Experience gathering and documenting business requirements
Experience developing and maintaining data models
Experience writing SQL
Experience performing quality assurance tasks (e.g., script development, data validation, testing)
Knowledge of ETL/ELT best practices and tools (e.g., Talend)
Solid understanding of data integration best practices and solutions (e.g., APIs, etc.)
Understanding of relational database concepts and data storage best practices
Understand data quality and metadata best practices
Ability to think logically and troubleshoot issues
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to set and meet deadlines
Ability to work in high-pressure situations
Effective communication and presentation skills
Hands-on experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams)
Excellent organizational skills
