Position Purpose

The senior regional planning analyst is responsible for the implementation and execution of plant level and regional level safety stock policies. Regional planning senior analysts are responsible for driving critical decisions in annual transportation spend. RPSAs are responsible for making final decisions on pool balancing moves from surplus to deficit markets to ensure optimal inventory positioning. This is to ensure plant capacities are maintained at optimal levels and the mix of stock (A,B,C,AT,AW) positions are well balanced to support uninterrupted sort and repair activities. RPSAs play a critical role in bringing different parts of the organization including sales, operations, logistics, and transportation in executing customer fulfilment and on time collections.

Major/Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for implementing and executing plant level safety stock policies to ensure optimal balance of all stock types and plant capacities
  • Lead demand allocation programs for respective regions
  • Responsible for short term and mid term optimization of inbound, outbound, relocations to realize the best possible cost to serve
  • Embark on creative solutions in partnership with transportation operations to move pallets from origin to destination points at the best possible cost, while maintaining optimal inventory mix
  • Interacting with and influencing Senior Managers and Directors to resolve barriers in servicing customer needs
  • Utilize advanced analytics and machine learning to analyze extensive databases, identify opportunities, establish corrective plans and present findings in visual manners to influence others to drive actions and results
  • Manage international flows, specialty stocks (Euros, UKs, HT, New pallets, plastic pallets, etc) and full service center relocations
  • Responsible for developing a proactive mapping plan that will provide in-depth visibility for transportation team to procure transport capacity in advance
  • Influence indirect reports to ensure compliance to mapping and eliminate barriers to executing the developed plan
  • Serve as subject matter expert in providing guidance for logistics coordinators and managers to rebalance inventory (issues, collections, relocations) between regions at the most optimal cost
  • Responsible for ensuring the most recent and accurate inputs (service center, production plan, funnel, etc.) are uploaded into JDA and Llamasoft to yield the best supply chain optimization solve
  • Responsible for updating, maintaining and optimizing plant level SIOP/inventory model that enables execution of the most cost effective transportation moves
  • Collaborates with logistics, transportation, sales, service and operations to identify and implement cost savings opportunities
  • Develops, collaborates, executes, and measures event management plans for both planned and unplanned events within their assigned area

Problem solving is exception based. As a result it is more complex in nature requiring analytical and innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlikview, SAP, Siebel
  • Familiarity to JDA Optimization Engine
  • Very strong inventory management and supply chain principles

Desirable Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Knowledge

Experience

2+ Years of experience in Supply Chain required

Skills and Knowledge

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Access/Excel) — Proficient
  • Displays a sense of urgency
  • Ability to multi-task and operate under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional efforts and drive results
  • Ability to communicate with diverse audiences and deliver appropriate message

Job Type: Full-time
