Our Opportunity
Chewy is looking for a DevOps/MLOps Engineer, Marketing Solutions to join the Marketing Science & Operations team in Boston, MA. The DevOps/MLOps Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining our machine learning platform to enable our data scientists in rapid model development. They will work across the existing tech stack to develop, test, deploy and maintain ML based software solutions. This role will own the production process of all the machine learning models that are widely used across marketing for target optimization purposes.
What You’ll Do
- Lead design and development of the ML Platform (Amazon Sagemaker) to enable rapid model development, training, and evaluation at scale
- Deploy and monitor complex ML Models developed by the Marketing Science Team
- Develop solutions for efficiently performing ML model experimentation and tuning of the models in production
- Implement end to end highly available and efficient ML Ops and ETL pipelines in a distributed computing environment
- Establish data engineering processes and best practices to support the data scientists using the ML Platform
- Work closely with Data Scientists and Engineers In identifying platform usage and identify opportunities for automation and improve self service capabilities
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices and tools in the ML space and champion new solutions internally
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 5+ years of working in a Data Engineer or DevOps role using cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS, GCP or Azure (AWS Preferred)
- Hands on experience with Amazon Sagemaker would be a big plus
- Proficiency in python and strong object-oriented design skills
- Good understanding of machine learning fundamentals
- Familiarity and working knowledge of workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Luigi or Jenkins
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools in a production setting
- Experience in SQL, data warehouse, performance tuning and ETL pipelines
- Knowledge on ML practices and production systems
- Hands-on with Cloud computing technology like AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
- Experience in working with marketing data is a huge plus
- Ability to effectively operate both independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and self-learning skills
- E-com, Retail or startup experience is a plus
- Position may require travel
Bonus
- PyTorch, JavaScript, D3.js & Restful API’s
- Snowflake, Vertica, Postgres, etc.
- Exposure to Apache Airflow or other DAG frameworks
- MarTech Knowledge
- Understanding of link tracking, pixels/tags, Google Analytics, and marketing attribution
- Experience with developing solutions on cloud computing services and infrastructure with AWS (S3, Athena, Glue, Lambda)
- Expertise designing and implementing data pipelines using modern data engineering approach and tools: Spark, PySpark, Java, Docker, cloud native DWH (Snowflake, Redshift), Kafka/Confluence etc.
- Experience with CI/CD process and platforms
