PMO & Business Operations Leader
As a PMO & Business Operations Leader, you will work alongside other business analysts and report directly to the Director of Global Deployment Services. You will deliver administrative and office support to the functions in the Global Services: Operations Directors, Project Managers, Customer Service Advocates with the ultimate goal of supporting Ciena customers with the highest level of efficiency and quality.
To accomplish this, you must understand all facets of the business, the process and task steps involved. Clear understanding of financials mechanisms (cost, revenues, cash collection) and Service KPI’s. Must be comfortable engaging a diverse global leadership team (both internal to Services and cross functional) with a high level of precision and attention to detail. Provide clear insight into service delivery performance thru metrics, governance, analysis and reporting. Evaluate business processes, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions. You are a problem solver and key partner across the services org.
The Contribution:
- Coach and lead project management office team.
- Responsible for collection, administration and analysis of services program data using Ciena tools.
- Lead meetings, gather and process business information such as Revenue, Cost, Change Orders, Utilization, forecasting, resources planning, project completion, cash collection, etc.
- Maintain multiple databases with project information, budget, planning, revenue, etc
- Perform detailed analysis to uncover areas for improvement.
- Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and performance to develop optimization strategies.
- Effectively communicate insights, plans and required actions to cross-functional team members and management.
- Gathering critical information from various stakeholders to enable useful and actionable reports (daily/weekly/monthly, as needed).
- Create/update interactive performance dashboards.
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
Success criteria:
- Demonstrate ability to translate business needs into concrete PMO tasks.
- Work with peers and colleagues to elaborate PMO plan that will bring efficiencies, velocity and accuracy in the services organization and for the benefit of the customers.
- Bringing consistency and accuracy into the information flow circulating within and outside the Services organization.
- Provide deep insight into the services business thru visualized dashboards and actionable reporting.
- Offloading the Operations leaders, the project managers and the customer success managers from routine administrative tasks.
Ideal Profile:

- 4-8 years proven experience in Business Operations
- Proven Leadership experience
- Should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to clearly explain difficult concepts.
- The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
- Demonstrated skills in desktop applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS project software’s.
- Experience with OEM (Oracle, PowerBI, Tableau, Salesforce, Mavelink, etc.)
- Understanding in Finance, Revenue Recognition & Accounting.
- Ability to learn new IT tools.
- Well organize and structured. Attentive to details. Analytic driven.
- A track record of following through on commitments.
- Strong communication skills & ability to work with colleagues around the globe.
- Team player, organized, self-motivated, and capable of independent work.
- Multitasking: able to manage many aspects of the account(s) simultaneously.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Willingness to work flexi-hours.
- Experience in IT/telecommunications environment not mandatory but highly appreciated.
