Role Outline / Job Summary
Understand the portfolio risk trends, identify loss making segments, enhance and improve the Risk policies using statistical techniques to optimize business growth and profitability by minimizing the losses
- Create and maintain acquisition Credit Abuse strategies and monitor performance trends and trigger breaches.
- Understand and optimize Credit abuse risk management by analyzing trends in the data and recommending appropriate portfolio actions.
- Identify potential high Credit abuse segments for new account acquisition and existing accounts and develop risk strategies to mitigate the losses
- Identify Credit Abuse Linkage with other accounts and recommend for adverse actions
- Support tactical and strategic Risk Analytics projects for Citi’s Credit Cards (Brands, Co-Brands & Retail services) Risk Management group in the US.
- Develop and manage implementation of risk management strategies that help mitigate credit losses, through complete change management cycle including designing, testing, securing approvals and doing post implementation validations.
- Apply innovative analytical techniques to customer and transaction data to build risk mitigation strategies and processes
- Must be able to effectively provide updates and communicate key initiatives to senior risk management.
- Analyzing tests and performance using SAS/SQL and decision tree software (CHAID/ CART)
- Evaluating effectiveness of current policies and strategies by actively monitoring performance against the benchmarks.
Responsibilities:
- Must have capability to clearly develop and communicate analysis
- A good understanding of Credit life cycle, from Acquisitions through early Collections
- Must have hands on expertise in developing and managing segmentation strategies, Decision tree segmentation and building policies using score is a plus
- Presentations to both technical and non-technical personnel are required to be made frequently as part of the job.
- Understanding and communicating examples of credit strategy customer impact through example review of Credit Bureau data.
- Ability to work efficiently in a matrixed environment balancing between both business and functional interactions and priorities, maximizing efficiencies of time-zones to create a continuously operating Credit Policy team.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with a specialization in Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline
- 4+ years work experience required
Skills:
- Experienced in developing, implementing, and monitoring credit strategies or scoring models across underwriting, existing customer management (examples: Balance Transfer, Credit Line Increase/Decrease, Re-Issue, Transactions Authorization)
- Good programming skills in advanced SAS, SQL, Knowledge Studio, SAS E-miner in PC, UNIX environments.
- Highly proficient in Excel/pivot tables and PowerPoint. VBA a plus.
- Exposure to project/process management
- Strong communication and presentation skills targeting a variety of audiences
- A qualified candidate needs to be able to work with cross functional teams
- Flexibility in approach and thought process
- Ability to work effectively across portfolio risk policy teams and functional areas teams
- Strong influencing and facilitation skills.
