The Data Science Analyst 2 is a developing professional role. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own team.
Responsibilities:
- Mines and analyzes data from various banking platforms to drive optimization and improve data quality
- Consults with business clients to determine system functional specifications. Applies comprehensive understanding of how multiple areas collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives
- Consults with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards; may recommend solutions
- Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives for complex projects through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry standards
- Impacts the business directly by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams
- Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
- Drives communication between business leaders and IT; exhibits sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firms reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years experience using tools for statistical modeling of large data sets
- Ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive and problem solving techniques
- Analytical, flexible, team-oriented and has good interpersonal/communication skills
- Demonstrated influencing, facilitation and partnering skills
- Proficient in Microfsoft
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

- Conducts strategic data analysis, identifies insights and implications and make strategic recommendations, develops data displays that clearly communicate complex analysis
- Assist in producing high quality prototypes to demonstrate the viability of the solution
- Building machine learning models (Random Forest, LightGBM etc.) across multiple use cases
- Performing exploratory data analysis to support hypothesis & applying different feature engineering & selection techniques
- Work with developers, data analysts, business analysts and architects to guide the implementation and validation of the solutions at scale in a big data production environment
- Review the model output results with business leads
- Explain the approach to teams less familiar with the principals and techniques utilized.
- Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
