The City of Greenville is looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a Network Analyst II. This position aims to ensure the stability, integrity, and availability of data, software, and hardware that is vital to the operation of day to day business function of the City.

Examples of Duties
File Server and Network Hardware Management
- Print Server Management
- Perform Operational Maintenance Activities to include:
- Monitor server performance and maintain optimal efficiency
- Monitor and install security and operating systems patches on servers, appliances and network equipment.
- Provide second level support on server, network, and software issues as related to servers and/or the network.
- Administer the enterprise Identity Management system.
Storage Area Network (SAN) Administration
- Perform Operational Maintenance Activities
- Provide and manage disk space for servers and applications
- Monitor and respond to alerts to provide pro-active responses to maintain uptime of resources
Enterprise Email System Administration
- Perform Operational Maintenance Activities
- Provide second level support for complex email issues with internal and external customers.
- Administer and oversee third party applications to control spam and Virus.
Administer and support the City virtual infrastructure environment
- Perform Operational Maintenance Activities
- Install updates on hardware cluster that hosts virtual machines.
- Assign and manage access permissions to virtual resources.
Directory Services Administration
- Perform Operational Maintenance Activities
- Create and manage access control lists (ACL) for user and group security.
- Adjusts system configurations in Active Directory as necessitated by user requests, changes, additions, and deletions of users and/or workstations
- Administers network shares and permissions within Active Directory
Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
- Manage the timely implementation of software patches to workstations and fileservers.
- Create, configure, and maintain images, packages, and task sequences
Mobile Device Management (MDM) – Workspace One & Microsoft Intune
- Create, configure, and maintain security policies on the MDM
- Understand and develop processes for the management of mobile devices using policies (non-client based), managed (though client-based management), and container management (sandbox to mobile device profile, application, or separate sandbox section of the device)
- Understand the capabilities of VMWare Workspace One, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, and Chrome Management
- Mobile device (cellular devices and tablets) administration and support
- Assists with piloting and testing new features
- Assist with procurement of Mobile Devices
- Maintain inventory of mobile devices (Cellular and Tablet)
- Collaborate with IT Personnel in the deployment of mobile devices to end users
- Test and QA new iOS/Android devices and software releases – Manage deployment process and schedule
- Performs problem determination, assistance, configuration, and technical support for mobile devices
- Programs cell phones, Smartphones, cellular devices
- Maintains battery and accessory replacements, audits cell phone billing,
- Video Surveillance Management System Administration and Maintenance*
- Manage Video Management System (VMS) software installation and user access
- Assist departments with exporting recorded video
- Assist with installation and maintenance of surveillance cameras
- Familiarity with Milestone VMS
VoIP, SIP and Voicemail System Administration and Maintenance
- Assist with new & existing user setup and changes of telephony devices
- Manages land lines to include moves, adds, and changes
- Assist with desk phone setup, repair and replacement
- Programs telephones
- Resets voicemail passwords
- Manages land lines to include moves, adds, and changes
- Creates monthly local and long distance usage reports
- Maintains contact list
Wireless Lan Administration and Maintenance
- Assist with wireless user device setup and maintenance
- Assist with wireless access setup and maintenance
- Configures wireless Lan profiles for internal access for all city owned wireless devices.
Audio and Video Support and Management
- Maintain inventory of TVs, audio/video controllers, projectors, cameras, and any other media related equipment that is used in conference rooms or shared spaces
- Management of the video conferencing software systems such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams (includes virtual meetings, webinars, and events)
Identity Badge System Management
- Perform Operational Maintenance Activities
- Coordinate with HR Department with new Access Badge Activations
Processing of Requisitions of Microsoft add on components to Microsoft 365
- Collaborate with IT Personnel in the purchasing of standalone applications licenses such as Power BI, Adobe Subscriptions, Dropbox, and Zoom
Other Things as Needed
- Performs problem determination, assistance, configuration, and technical support for wireless communications and related functions including access points, wireless access cards, security and surveillance cameras;
- Aids in the process of maintaining a software/hardware inventory;
- Provides solutions to user problems over the telephone and through remote control of computers; offers remedies to recurring problems in the way of upgrades, training, replacement software or hardware, telephones, cell phones, access points, Smartphones, components, etc.;
- Determines cause of error or system failure and applies corrective steps or standard operational techniques in cases where error or system failure can be corrected;
- Provides documentation of problems and methods used for solving/correcting those problems by utilizing the on-line system for hardware, software, telephone, cell phone, access points, Smartphones, cellular devices, etc.;
- Assists in the preparation of the estimates of time, equipment, personnel and total costs of recommended changes, enhancements, upgrades, and etc. for solutions to problems and projects;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, network engineering or related field; and
- Five (5) years of experience in a network environment.
- OR*
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, network engineering or related field ; and
- Six (6) years of experience in a network environment.
