Job Title: Information Technology/Operations (“IT/OT”) Analyst

Are you a detail-oriented and dynamic IT/OT Analyst with a passion for sustainability? CM Biomass is hiring!

With an indisputable brand, CM Biomass is one of the world’s largest independent producers and traders of wood pellets, mainly supplied to European utilities and distributors, and acts as the main aggregator between manufacturers in North America, Europe, and Asia thereby being a key part in the transition from fossil fuels to green energy.

Position Description: The Manager designs, builds, implements, maintains and updates all of the IT/OT assets for the North American offices and assets for a medium sized and fast-growing biomass trading and production company handling over 3.5 million metric tonnes per year of soft commodities of which own production capacity will be over 1 million metric tonnes across 9+ sites by early 2023.

Major Areas of Responsibility

· Testing and later roll out of equipment and tools to monitor variables to minimize human input or intervention. Use machine learning and algorithms to help focus production to optimal run states.

· Building consistency of data collection, reporting and visualization of key metrics across assets.

· Design and programming of operator and management decision making interfaces

· Maintaining all IT/OT assets across all production sites but also for the employees and offices. Assist in data analysis for optimizing OEE.

· Working with other team members in Finance, Fiber Procurement, Operations, and Execution to help build tools to automate processes where feasible and valuable

· Designing, configuring, and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software for all new plants

Primary Objectives

· Build and maintain systems for consistent monitoring of inbound materials volume and quality, production metrics, outbound material, and product flow

· Build and maintain systems which allow for better data driven decision-making not only at a centralized level but also at the plant and operator level

· Maintain and manage our physical IT/OT assets

· Work with all facets of the company to digitize and automate processes

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· General level experience in IT/OT systems and utilization

· General knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Microsoft D365/Dynamics

· Preferred experience in production environments, preferably in natural resource conversion

· Basic knowledge of production process control systems with career goals to expand knowledge

· Demonstrated ability to handle numerous tasks, projects, supply lines, clients, and vendors simultaneously

· Ability to travel (<50% mostly domestic), interest to travel preferred (both domestic and international)

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or related, and/or

· 3 years’ experience in Information systems and manufacturing processes

Pay: $70,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
