What role will you play as a member of the Colgate’s Information Technology team?

We are thrilled to invite applications for the position of Data Engineers who focus on expanding and optimizing our data, data pipeline architecture, data flow and collection for multi-functional teams. The Data Engineer will be an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. You will support Colgate’s data management processes and standard reporting. You will work on data initiatives and ensure efficient data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. You must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. An analytical and collaborative problem solver with the ability to work with large data sets, who is also proactive and adaptable to changing business needs !

Who are you…

You are a function expert –

• Support Standard Report Delivery as per agreed to SLAs and respond to ad hoc requests for reporting and first level analysis.
• Supports market data harmonization process set up and business as usual across all CP countries and categories working with external strategic partners as appropriate.
• Manage market data validation processes and tools and investigate significant differences from what was previously reported.
• Assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs

You connect the dots –

• Update and manage product master data sets as per standards and governance rules
• Assist with organizational change needs (e.g., training, communications, etc.) as part of roll-out and ongoing support of market data reporting tools and processes.

You are a collaborator –

• Communicate and coordinate with divisions and subsidiaries as part of investigation and resolution of discrepancies
• Ready to work closely with business partners across geographies
• Work with data and analytics to strive for greater functionality in our data systems

You are an innovator –

• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc
• Build and maintain efficient data pipeline architecture in cloud environment

Qualifications

What you’ll need…

• Bachelor’s degree, Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field a plus
• At least 2 years of professional experience working in Information Technology or Digital Marketing
• Basic proficiency of data visualization techniques & tools – Experience with dashboarding tools (Google Data Studio, Tableau, DOMO, Sigma etc.) and programming languages (Python, Java, R etc.) desired
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel / Google Sheet (i.e., standard functions – aggregation, pivots, look ups, etc.)
• SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
• Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and find opportunities for improvement
• High level of comfort with large sets of internal and external data and attend to detail s and penchant for accuracy
• Experience supporting and working with multi-functional teams in a dynamic environment
• Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments and meet timelines
• Strong oral & written communication skills.
• Experience with Data Flow, Data Pipeline and workflow management tools in cloud environments (GCP, AWS etc.)
