Job Summary

Responsible for contributing in project teams, troubleshooting operational issues, providing technical solutions to operational problems, new product implementation, implementing existing products and services and the overall upkeep and maintenance of designated areas of engineering. Acts in compliance with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies and procedures. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

Cloud Engineers should have a deep knowledge of private, public and hybrid cloud models. You will have an excellent understanding of the offerings within GCP and AWS. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be confident when it comes to the engineering and delivery of the AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure, ideally on a global scale. You will have a very strong infrastructure background and will be comfortable with an ‘infrastructure as code’ philosophy. You will have a hands-on approach and be able to work from high level architecture to detailed design and administrative tasks as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver tooling across AWS and GCP that provides both cost and configuration data.
• Contribute code to continue improving our cost reporting capability across our cloud environments (both public and private), drive towards automation of everything.
• You will help enable innovation through continuous deployment across technology stacks and demonstrate best practices around advanced cloud solutions
• Evaluate new and emerging technologies, services, tools, and multiple cloud vendors for innovative new capabilities, and lead Proof of Concepts
• Work closely with the Platform DevOps teams to design and engineer innovative cloud platform solutions.
• Provide cloud consulting services and expertise across the business and IT.
• Gain approval for platform solutions and technology selections

Employees at all levels are expected to:

• Experience as a “hands on” AWS or GCP DevOps engineer in an enterprise environment and experienced with container technologies; Docker, Kubernetes or similar, good understanding of Linux and Java based OS and application stacks
• Proven knowledge of AWS and GCP platform and tools

  Experience with multi org architectures and governance at scale (AWS Organizations/GCP Org)

  Experience with developing high and low level designs for serverless cloud architecture with strong documentation skills

  Has experience in delivering, designing, or refactoring cloud native solutions beyond IaaS.

  Experience with Cloud Services and their cost models

• Experience with software development and object orientated programming model with proficiency in at least one programming language, ideally Python.

  Experience in event driven architectures

  Experience with software testing and at least one testing methodology.

  Experience with scalable web application architecture and engineering concepts such as microservices, REST, and APIs

• Experience with Infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform
• Experience with automating tasks with CICD tooling such as Concourse
• Experience in source and version control methodologies and technologies, ideally Git.

  Good knowledge of repository management, managing CI triggers, managing git history

• Solid grasp of Agile and DevOps principles

  Experience in breaking down tasks, refinement, story pointing, and managing workloads between team members

• AWS and GCP certified to at least Associate level
