Job Summary
As a Director in the Data Engineering capability, you will bring an entrepreneurial and progressive mindset to lead the growth and success of our practice. You are a self-starter, effective in breaking down large problems into smaller ones, and eager to regularly share what you learn with others within your projects and in the broader Compass Group NA community. Your thirst for knowledge and passion for fearless experimentation in new and interesting ways to meet our most pressing data challenges will inspire those around you. Compass Group NA Data Engineering capability is focused on injecting intelligence into products, engineering systems that support learning and insight, and creating innovative data products.
Data Engineering consists of streaming / real-time data solutions, modern data platforms, and data systems within products (e.g.., database systems, graph databases, key-value stores, document databases, and transactional systems)

Machine learning and artificial intelligence

Job Responsibilities
- Scope, architect, and build large-scale data integration projects across the organization.
- Develop cross-functional relationships with multiple teams, including the BI Team.
- Manage a team of your team members’ contributions (data engineers).
- Implement processes to maintain Service level agreements for all data sources: accurate, up to date, with good performance.
- Design end-to-end data pipelines in a cloud-based environment: Data Lake, ETL, Data Warehouse, Data Governance, and Data Modeling.
- Ensure long-term success by enforcing coding and documentation best practices, i.e no technical debt.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 10+ years of experience leading data engineering and integration teams
- knowledge of full-stack Big Data environment, on Snowflake, AWS S3, Redshift, Lambda, Glue, Athena, and Data Pipeline.
- Experience with SQL & Python Programming; ETL and data pipelines setup; Data Modeling; System/API Design
- Full-stack Big Data environment, on Snowflake, AWS S3, Redshift, Lambda, Glue, Athena, and Data Pipeline.
- SQL & Python Programming.
- ETL and data pipelines setup
- Data Modeling
- Team and Project management
- Proficient in source control management such as GitHub
- Data Governance and Master Data Management experience; Experience with PII, PHI, HIPAA, CCPA
- Experience with enterprise application integration and API platforms; Experience with MuleSoft and AWS API Gateway.
