Essential Skills
- Hands-on expertise in the following technologies: RDBMS, NoSQL, Big Data Hadoop technologies, distributed technologies, ETL tools, data modeling for transactional as well as reporting focuses.
- Working knowledge and skills for data management, data governance, data processing and storage of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
- Should have experience in designing for data security and privacy as a core philosophy.
- Expertise in designing for reliability, availability, scalability and performance in large scale systems.
- Extensive knowledge of data management strategies & technologies
- Experience in designing for various physical environments, both on-premises as well as in the cloud, while influencing for the most efficient approach based on business requirements.
- Ability to understand, analyse and profile data produced by multiple source applications/systems and perform database access pattern optimizations.
- Experience of cloud data platform architectures including data lake and cloud data warehouse.
- Expertise in metadata management, ETL processing, reference data management. Expertise in streaming and batching.
- Coding experience with languages common in data engineering. Hands-on experience in writing complex SQL for analysing data is a must.
- Experience with large scale data and query optimization techniques.
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in architecture, design and implementation of Financial Systems/Platforms such as Core Banking, Back-end Payment Hubs, Financial reconciliation and reporting, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, will be an advantage.
- Certification in CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or equivalent would be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Drive Enterprise level database design for key RTA modules to optimise for access, processing, reporting and infrastructure.
- Work closely with internal teams including Product, Operations, Risk and compliance, audit, information security to ensure all business requirements are considered in the design process.
- Participate in the development of architectures, strategies, and policies around data governance, including master data management, metadata management, data quality and data profiling.
- Lead design decisions that deliver great database performance, nimble application development and response.
- Provide expertise on the overall data ecosystem, engineering best practices, standards, architectural approaches and complex technical resolutions.
- Drive internal proof of concept initiatives. When needed, quickly design and implement a prototype of a system or component with a proper architecture, and then hand over to (may lead) a small group of devs to finish.
- Create and maintain a fluid, end-to-end vision for how data will flow through an organization.
- Develop strategy to optimize data quality and data integrity of the platform.
- Implement and support systems that reliably and efficiently provide interactive query performance on large amounts of multi-modal data.
- Integrate data from several internal and external sources.
- Provide strategic guidance and direction to development teams.
- Own technical project delivery process to ensure alignment and consistency with sound architecture principles.
- Be a technical subject matter expert and represent the full internal and external capabilities of the platform.Roles and Responsibilities
