PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Constellation is on a mission to be the leader to help combat climate change and we would like you to play a role in helping us achieve that goal. The mass markets data analytics team is responsible for translating data into insights to help Constellation grow its customer base and maximize profitability. In addition, you will help our customers utilize data to better manage their energy usage and meet their own carbon goals. You should be an effective communicator, aspiring, and able to drive insights into actions. You’ll need to mine multiple sources of data, derive actionable insights, and translate complex results into simple conclusions that will help make Constellation the number one choice in energy management.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Use an analytical, data-driven approach to help deliver analysis, insights and reporting that will influence business strategy and decisions
- Partner with marketing teams to deliver predictive models and customer facing analytics that improve customer engagement and profitability
- Design & develop appropriate mechanisms for tracking & performance management (e.g., Power BI dashboards, reports)
- Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
- Contribute to ad hoc projects executed by the business analytics team by structuring data, conducting analyses, and synthesizing presentations or other report-outs
POSITION SCOPE
The analyst will work closely with members of the Sales, Finance, IT, and other departments. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background in both Statistics and Business. Ideally the candidate will possess the following skills: technical, quantitative/statistical and communication.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Business Intelligence, Operations Research, Engineering)
- 3-5 years’ experience as a quantitative Data Analyst/Data Scientist or a related role
- Understanding of statistical programming in a language such as R, Python, or SAS, SPSS, MATLAB.
- Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
- Ability to look at things differently, debug, troubleshoot, design and implement solutions to complex technical issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated, self-learner, team player, and technically inquisitive
- Data visualizations
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of developing, scaling and implementing statistical predictive models in customer facing environments
- Exposure to Cloud based data services, architecture and analytics tools (AWS, Azure, Google Could or IBM Cloud)
- Exposure to machine learning approaches and applications within a commercial environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment
