Technical Project Analyst
As a Technical project analyst in the Engineering team, you will be administering our Atlassian tools suite like Jira, Confluence. As part of continuous improvement initiative, you’ll help to drive engineering excellence programs such as implementing a common metrics tool to help find data-driven improvement opportunities. You will be responsible to conceptualize, design and develop dashboards in Jira and to produce visually compelling PowerPoint presentations for consumption by leadership team. You will be responsible for running queries or scripts that power these dashboards; you will need to be proficient in JQL, SQL and have the ability to independently drive deep-dive data analysis for engineering improvement insights and recommendation.
This is a highly impactful role where the insights provided will directly impact the bottom line of the business. You will work extensively with product management teams, technical teams, and help find opportunities to improve engineering process and productivity. You should be an expert with analyzing large data sets, enjoys diving deep into data analysis, discovering root causes, and designing long-term solutions.
What You’ll Need
- 2+ years of experience with Jira and Confluence administration. Certification is preferred
- 3+ years of relevant professional work experience in analytics, develop metrics, reports, presentations
- System Administration– Manage/Administer/Enhance Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, JIRA service management, Advanced Roadmaps, Jira plugins) hosted in Atlassian cloud
- Configure– Create complex JIRA workflows, configurations, and schemes (screen, field, permission, and notification). Manage integration with other products/services.
- Plugin Management– Responsible for managing existing plugins, evaluating, testing and deploying new plugins to address customer requirements.
- Analytics: Conduct deep-dive data analysis for insights and recommendation. Design and develop metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key product and engineering decisions to improve engineering performance and influence engineering strategy
- PowerPoint – Help communicate the operational status to the lead by authoring the presentation on status/actions/strategy
- Experience gathering business requirements, using industry standard business intelligence tools to extract data, formulate metrics and build reports
- Experience using Tableau, advanced SQL and databases in a business environment with large-scale, big data, complex datasets would be an added advantage to this role
- Preferred experience with automating Google Sheets using Python
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle and/or agile development environment with an emphasis on BI practices
Nice to have
- Experience surfacing automated insights using descriptive analytics
- Experience in BI projects converting business needs to data warehousing and reporting solutions
- Both technically deep and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization
- Supply chain/logistics experience
