The Associate Healthcare Analyst (AHA) is responsible for gathering, manipulating and synthesizing data to draw conclusions and make recommendations resulting in implementable strategies. While learning and utilizing SQL programming skills, the AHA Analyst will provide superior analytical support and expertise to CCHCS executives, physicians, stakeholders and external clients. The AHA will be a key team member in developing regular business line reports, market assessments and ad hoc analyses as related to business growth strategies and performance measurements for CCHCS. The Associate Analyst is responsible to bridge the gap between clinical and business analysis through the combined knowledge of information systems, health care data, decision support applications and analytics. Must be able to translate highly technical results to both technical and non-technical customers. The Associate Analyst will select, recommend, and apply appropriate analytical and statistical methodologies and techniques to measure trends, progress and change. The Analyst should be a strong critical thinker who has demonstrated experience performing data analysis in complex data environments. The dissemination of data includes presentations to customers /stakeholder groups and requires strong written and oral communication abilities. The Associate Healthcare Analyst works with data that requires consistent validation for timeliness, reliability and usefulness. The position collaborates directly with a variety of stakeholders including internal and external requestors. The requirements of each stakeholder are evaluated to ascertain the most appropriate method of sharing data, using appropriate mechanisms to minimize PHI disclosure, prevent inappropriate data sharing and protect data integrity.
Education & Experience
1. Minimum of bachelor’s degree and one of the following:
Three years required; healthcare preferred.
b. a master’s degree with related study in analytics and/or technical tools needed to manipulate large datasets or c. applicable certifications that demonstrate knowledge of the enterprise health record management system and or analytic acumen and mastery of software tools, i.e. EPIC Badge, EPIC Proficiency, EPIC Certification, SAS Certification, SQL Certification, Power BI and or Visualization Tool Certification.
2. Exposure to programming tools such as Microsoft SQL Server or SAS environment to manipulate and analyze large volumes of health care data.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Strong technical skills with the ability to quickly learn new computer programs and data sources.
4. Extensive analytical ability required to evaluate and interpret market, financial, clinical, and other supportive data in order to make sound and objective recommendations for strategic options. Ability to evaluate highly complex and confidential performance data and determine if contingency plans are required to meet stated objectives.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills required to communicate results, strategic initiatives, goals, and objectives.
6. Able to work effectively with clinical and administrative staff in a multi-disciplinary environment. Must be self-directed and able to multi-task as needed to complete projects. Good problem-solving skills required.
