Senior Business Analyst- Risk Analytics

CoStar Risk Analytics, located in Boston, MA, is currently looking for is creative, organized, and passionate individual to help us dream up – and bring to life – user-friendly products and applications. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work hand-in-hand with Product Managers, Software Engineers, User Interface Designers and Web Developers.

CoStar Risk Analytics works with market participants across the commercial real estate (CRE) lending and CMBS investment spectrum. Collectively, CoStar Risk Analytics’ tools, in conjunction with CoStar’s granular data, provide portfolio lenders and CMBS Investors with the ability to better target business, appropriately price loans, make informed approval of credits, actively manage their portfolio with robust stress testing and surveillance measures, assess refinance risk, and execute within a disciplined framework. Clients, both public and private investors, range from commercial banks and financial institutions to pension funds and insurance companies as well as government and rating agencies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or other related fields
  • 5 or more years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar experience in Product Life-Cycle Management
  • 5 or more years in working with SQL, Python, or .Net development languages, or similar required
  • 5 or more years in working with Database technologies
  • Strong understanding of API technologies
  • Aptitude for technology and ability to communicate between the business and technical team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in financial or analytic products: banking, insurance, investment management, CRE or CMBS is preferred
  • AWS or Azure Services Certifications
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and communication
  • Advanced knowledge proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience working in an agile environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools including skills to develop analysis queries and procedures in SQL, SAS, Microsoft Power BI or other business intelligence and analysis software is a plus
  • Experienced user of CRE/CMBS or Market Analytical Tools such as Bloomberg, Intex and Trepp, are a plus
  • Experience in commercial real estate, banking or structured finance is preferred, CMBS is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define, design and author project business, functional and technical requirements
  • Develop user acceptance test cases for functional and non-functional requirements or regression testing as appropriate for the initiative/project.
  • Develop and finalize all assigned artifacts and perform as the primary point of contact for all application requirement elicitation needs
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards for artifacts, templates, and quality assurance verification
  • Assist clients with implementation and provide business operations support as needed
  • Assess business operations and processes to identify inefficiencies in procedures, information flows and handoffs, decisions, communications pathways and ways in which systems supporting these can be enhanced
  • Employ structured modeling techniques and tools to describe business functions, processes, information and technology designs
  • Document As-Is and To-Be process flows for existing and future systems
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings such as business process reviews, requirements, and various status reports
