Roles & Responsibilities:
- The Data Platform Engineering team is responsible for building and running the various data platforms like Elasticsearch, Kafka, Redis, Elasticache etc.
- Be involved in technical architecture, design decisions, project plans, and team development documents.
- Cross collaborative and personal communications skills to speak with clarity to influence from entry-level engineer to leadership team.
- Eager to learn new technologies and stay abreast of upcoming technologies in the Data Platform arena and industry trends.
- Data Platform administrator experience in managing highly scalable Tier1 systems.
- Listening to the internal and external customer business requirements and align your team to achieve the goal.
- Hire, retain, and motivate top talent on the side.
- Define long-term roadmap and drive release planning and execution
- Data-driven approaches consistently drive improvements and identify actual root cause using various problem-solving strategies using 5Why’s and Pareto to resolve the systemic issues.
- Implements designs by writing scripts, configuring systems, servers, cloud resources, including testing, and debugging.
- Analyzes network, application, and system requirements and produces efficient, secure, reliable, and cost-effective designs.
- Manage and evolve Data Platform monitoring tools, performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
Preferred Qualifications & Requirements:
- 3+ years experience in a management role supporting a data platform team
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in one or more of the data platforms like Elasticsearch, Kafka, Redis, Elasticache.
- 5+ years of managing, administering, and tuning data platforms ( both build and run )
- Ability to direct and mentor data platform engineering team.
- Experience with one or more large Cloud deployments AWS, GCP, or Azure. AWS is preferred.
- In-depth experience in designing highly available, high volume, scalable, data platforms
- Programming and scripting languages ( Python, Go, Ruby etc. ) Good experience in at least one language is preferred.
- Good understanding of data platform architecture, design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Experience in other RDBMS like MySQL, SQL Server etc. is a big plus.
- Experience in other data related areas Big Data is a plus.
- Interested in learning and adopting new technologies in the Data Platform area.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, science, or business
