Overview:
Cracker Barrel is on the search for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Home Office team! In this role, you would work closely with Project Managers, Data Scientists, BI Engineers, Business Analysts & Executives to turn raw data into scalable and integrated analytic data models that are efficient and easy for BI Engineers or Analysts to use.

Cracker Barrel is on the search for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Home Office team! In this role, you would work closely with Project Managers, Data Scientists, BI Engineers, Business Analysts & Executives to turn raw data into scalable and integrated analytic data models that are efficient and easy for BI Engineers or Analysts to use.
Responsibility:
- Mine raw data from production systems and third parties for attributes that will be informative to the business. Be prepared to work in source data that can be messy, change without warning and often come with no documentation.
- Possess strong business acumen and the ability to acquire deep knowledge over a business domain to understand what data is valuable.
- Set expectations and advise business team members early on source data issues related to Data Quality attributes: Accuracy, Completeness, Reliability, Relevance & Timeliness.
- Experience in using statistical methods that derive actionable business meaning from data.
- Anticipate and design for future needs to enable growth in data strategy applications. Balance resources between current scope and future needs.
- Experience with building semantic data models for use in mainstream BI applications such as Tableau.
- Document processes and Data Catalogs. Comply with Data Governance and security policies. Bring attention to security and privacy risks when observed.
- Continuously seek opportunities to make internal processes more efficient. Coordinate ideas with internal teammates.
- Enterprise ETL environments such as Datastage, Informatica or SSIS
- Must have advanced SQL skills
- Experience with programming languages and environments such as .Net, C#, JavaScript, R, Python or PHP.
- Experience with data integration protocols such as APIs, Webhooks, JSON or CSVs.
- Experience working in Data Science or Statistical teams.
- Past experience with development on production systems such as ERP, Labor, Point of Sale, Cost Accounting preferred.
Qualifications:
- BS in Business or STEM degree and/or equivalent work experience.
- Five or more years of experience with Data Engineering and Enterprise Data Warehouse environments. Knowledge and Skills

- Clear communication style that is appropriate for non-technical team members
