Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining all aspects of the Business Intelligence environments including reporting toolsets, and the related databases/data warehouses. This role will adopt an all-encompassing approach to BI and will conduct reporting projects from the requirements gathering to the development, user acceptance testing, deployment to production and documentation, and platform maintenance and monitoring. Reporting will be internal as well as client facing. This team provides a key ongoing service to internal teams and all levels of management throughout the business to ensure company success. This role works under general supervision and direction.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development of reporting projects across SAP Business Objects, Crystal Reports and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), and Power BI
- Support, maintenance, and monitoring of all analytics platforms (SAP BI, Crystal, MSBI, Power BI)
- SQL development across Oracle and SQL Server environments
- Report development, maintenance, and code optimisation
- Platform management with respect to monitoring, scheduling, incident management, and other tasks related to ensuring platform stability and performance
- Provide data and insights to the business to support project and BAU (business as usual) requirements
- Provide support to the business for production reporting and data related issues
- Solution design/architecture inputs for both new and established environments
- Provide regular and ad-hoc data analysis to key business units across the business
- Drive and maintain the adoption of Business Intelligence toolsets across the business
- Participate and provide inputs into workshops for all Business Intelligence initiatives I.e., Automations, process optimisation, technology opportunities
- Conducting business analysis including requirement gathering workshops with internal and external teams
- Adoption of best practice guidelines for reporting and development
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
- Presentation of analysis and insights to key stakeholders
- Provide ad-hoc and scheduled support for regional, and global initiatives/projects
- Dashboard design and development
- Data analysis and analytics development
- Will be required to support on shifts

Minimum Job Requirements:
Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor and/or Post Graduate qualifications in a related field
Skills/Experience/Knowledge
Essential:
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience in Business Intelligence related role(s)
- Strong skills in writing PL SQL and good skills in T-SQL
- Strong skills in SAP Business Objects (Webi, Universes, Crystal)
- Strong skills with Microsoft Business Intelligence platforms (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
- Experience with Power BI
- Strong business analysis skills with an ability to understand complex business processes
- Strong understanding of relational database design and dimensional modelling
- Experience in BI development cycle and BI best practices
- Experience working on reporting projects
Desirable:
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, or Azure Synapse
- Experience with data analytics and programing I.e., Python, R, Machine Learning
- Microsoft Azure cloud experience (theory and practical)
- Knowledge of analytical design methods
- Microsoft BI/Analytics/Azure Certified E.g. (MSCA, MCSE) or working towards
- Experience with agile methodologies, ITIL and Prince 2 are also highly regarded
- Experience of knowledge of the transportation industry
- Experience or knowledge of agile methodologies – ITIL, Prince2 are also highly regarded.
