Retail Customized Energy Solutions is looking for an Analyst with knowledge of common accounting principles and practices, in addition to experience in validating data, business logic, and strong SQL skills, to join its Retail Services team. In this role the successful candidate will support the Company’s Retail Energy practice by providing support to the retail operations group in database validation, payment and account balance analysis, and business logic validation. This position will suit a candidate comfortable working under deadlines and with competing priorities. Scope of work will include client billing portfolio management, monitoring and validating bill and payment processing queues, and bill process development and implementation. The successful candidate will be a high energy self-starter, a positive team player, possess strong analytical skills, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Being detail oriented and a person of integrity are essential qualities, as is an ability to handle new tasks and manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Representative Duties:
- Triage issues related to data disparity, especially in customers’ account balance, payments, and invoices
- Document, report, and track software defects
- Support internal process automation efforts across Retail Market Services functions through discovery, documentation, and representation of business requirements and functional specifications within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Review and analyze system specifications and business requirements to improve the procedure
- Develop, document, and execute QA test cases for new functionality as well as Production bug fixes
- Backend validation for data completeness/correctness and performance
- Use professional experience to assist with completion of ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable subject matter demonstrating required quantitative and professional skill sets
- Five or more years’ (5+) relevant experience in utility or electricity markets
- Strong SQL skills writing queries to investigate root causes for issue resolution is very inquisitive—a problem solver—and has a basic understanding of AR and payment processing and how those items impact AR data, etc.
- Experience working with advanced commercial retail products strongly preferred
- Relevant graduate degree or advanced industry experience a plus
- Excellent analytic processing skills and experience with Excel
- Ability to analyze information, solve problems and make quick, fact-based decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a deadline-driven, self-managed environment
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to think “outside the box” by developing and implementing improvements to processes and tools
