Job Detail:

We are searching for an analytics leader with a strong client management background that will lead a dynamic data scientist and data analysis team. This new leader will be leading a team of 3 data scientists to start with and will expand the team by promoting risk solutions across all CVS verticals.

Our team, the “Pricing and Product Analytics” uses AI techniques to support actuarial/underwriting organization to improve Aetna Health Insurance Pricing and Caremark Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) Pricing and Product Design. Our purpose is to solve complex healthcare cost issues and to make Health Care affordable to everyone.

This position requires proven experience in leading, building ML and analytics products. Demonstrated a successfully track of analytics products developments by leading multiple analytics initiatives and be a key subject matter expert and thought leader to the leadership team.

Role Summary:

  • Consults with internal clients to identify opportunities to implement data science solutions to business problems at an expert level.
  • Acts as an analytics product owner translating business needs into analytics projects and actions.
  • Understands and has hands on experience on advanced modeling techniques and be able to lead and coach data scientists.
  • Understanding key drivers of pricing analytics and actuarial rate making process and be able to translate actuarial/Under-writing process workflow into business opportunities and frame them as analytical problems.
  • Autonomously leads the client relationship with senior business leaders as their single point of contact. Collaborates with business partners to understand their strategy, problems, and goals.
  • manage and mentors junior team members.

This role is not purely remote. Location options for this role are: NYC, Wellesley, MA, Hartford, CT and Irving TX

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 140,000
Maximum: 280,000

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience creating an analytics roadmaps, building a solution in collaboration with external and internal stakeholders, socializing and driving implementation with track record of business impact.
  • 5+ years’ experience strategy consulting or on strategy teams in large companies
  • 5+ years’ experience programming using Python and analytics platforms on Hadoop ecosystems together with good knowledge of advanced analytics tools to analyze large data sets from variety data sources.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading data science teams by creating a vision, leading day to day problem solving and coaching/grooming the team to deliver consistent impactful solutions


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing a dynamic pricing system in an insurance underwriting context
  • PhD Preferred
  • Demonstrates proficiency in most areas of mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, statistical predictive analytics.
  • Experience in RDBMS with hand-on SQL experience.
  • Preferred experience in managing risk solutions especially in insurance pricing
  • Have an exceptional agile project/time management practices for highly skilled data science team and be able to communicate project deliverables and reporting to business partners clearly and to delegate tasks to his/her team via clear documentation and well-organized project management practices
  • 3+ years of experience in leading data science teams by creating a vision, leading day to day problem solving and coaching/grooming the team to deliver consistent impactful solutions


Education

Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.

Master’s degree in quantitative field or MBA strongly preferred.
