Job Detail:
- Are you an experienced data scientist looking to take your career to the next level? We are seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science to join our Retail Consumer Growth team at CVS Health. In this role, you will use your subject matter expertise to work closely with business partners, identify large opportunities, and leverage data science to drive business growth. You will provide guidance and thought leadership to teams of Data Scientists, mentoring and developing their skills. With a focus on strategic initiatives, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on the success of our retail business.
In this position, you will:
- Identify and apply data science to CVS Health’s retail business across a variety of domains, including promotions, personalization, retail and web stores, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop technical/business approaches and new or enhanced technical tools.
- Build rigorous, practical, and scalable solutions with machine learning or statistical methods to drive business objectives.
- Provide thought leadership and technical mentorship to data scientists and ensure continuous learning for the team.
- Manage a team of data scientists and analytics professionals using established best practices.
- Solve problems using analytics, share insights across teams, and present recommendations to senior staff and internal clients.
- Resolve issues and remove barriers that hinder analytics initiatives.
- Build contingency plans and execute corrective action to mitigate risks
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: 115,000
Maximum: 230,000
Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years’ experience as a Data Scientist
- 4+ years’ experience with both Python and SQL
- 4+ Experience with ML Algorithms such as: XG Boost, light gbm, k-means, Random Forrest, Decision Trees, Deep Learning
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience leading and managing teams of data scientists and analytics professionals
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business needs into data science solutions
- Experience working with retail or consumer-focused data and understanding of industry trends and challenges
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark is a plus.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Master’s degree or PhD in a related field is preferred.
