Data Management Division within the Unstructured & Secondary Storage (USS) engineering team works towards protecting Enterprise level Customer data against Data Loss / Data Unavailability. This unit is responsible for providing Data Protection Solution (across On-Prem, Public Cloud, Hybrid Cloud) that ensures Enterprise Policy Driven / On demand Data Backup and Restore. Be it physical servers, VMs, Applications, Filesystems, DBs – all are protected with consistency.
What you’ll achieve
As a Software Engineer 2, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.
You will:
- Participate in the preparation, review and evaluation of software/storage requirements and specifications
- Prepare written specifications for tasks of varied complexity from verbal requirements, Use defined Agile software lifecycle methodologies
- Participates in the software development life-cycle, which includes research, new development, modification, security, correction of errors, reuse, re-engineering and maintenance of software products.
- Follows source code and file revision control for projects, Code reviews, Unit Testing processes.

Essential Requirements
- 2-4 years experience in software development in enterprise- class projects
- Experience in using defined Agile software lifecycle methodologies, Strong functional programming expertise, object oriented experience is a plus
- Experience in C/C++, debugging with C, Linux Systems Programming, Unix System Programming, PC, Concurrency, etc., ie in API / integration product development, RESTAPI
- A solid understanding of virtualization(VMware) concepts is a plus
- Ability to thoroughly document the design of new software and maintain documentation throughout the lifecycle (i. e. Functional Specification Documents, object models, class diagrams, state flows, etc. )
Desirable Requirements
- Test Driven Development (TDD)
- Knowledge of Data Protection and Storage Concepts, Scripting using shell or python
Education:
Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or a related discipline
