The Revenue Technology & Data Analytics IT team is responsible for the Revenue Management and Accounting, Loyalty, Data, Analytics and Business Intelligence groups. Depending on the assigned team, interns may be assigned to assist in providing computer software development, business analysis, data analytics and/or technical support for IT operations in Atlanta, GA or Minneapolis St. Paul, MN. You may support a variety of IT projects in a Business Analyst, Developer, Systems Engineer, or Data Analytic/BI type role which includes gathering requirements for development, design and testing of decision support systems or participation in the development, maintenance, enhancement and support of our software applications or infrastructure environments. Data analytics is used to create performance dashboards and service level agreements with various products. Interns working in Developer roles are given an opportunity to utilize various methods and technologies such as Java/JEE, JSON, Spring, Angular, Agile/DevOps delivery, API, JavaScript, C++ on Linux, Python, REST, XML, web services, HTML, Oracle and expanding mobile technologies. Some roles / responsibilities will be non-technical.

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)

  • Have a 2.5 GPA or higher and have completed at least 2 years in a college program, with degree emphasis in Computer Science, Software Development, Systems/Industrial/Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Data Analytics/Operations Research, Cyber Security, Business Management, or a related field
  • Be able to commit to working the entire summer internship program (May 15 – August 11, 2023)
  • Ideal candidates have strong analytical, leadership, written and verbal communication skills
  • Embrace diverse people, thinking and styles
  • Consistently make safety and security, of self and others a priority
  • Have an interest in solving complex problems and investing the time and energy to overcome roadblocks and learn from mistakes
  • Possess some awareness of the Software Dev Lifecycle as well as PC hardware components and/or maintenance
  • Be willing to work from the Atlanta or MSP office, as will be discussed during the interview, unless approved for a hybrid in office / partial remote work experience
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for a U.S. based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)

  • Ability to digest large amounts of data and information and succinctly explain what can be learned from the data and how it can support decision making
  • Desire to learn leadership techniques and best practices in problem solving and conflict resolution to enable innovation and progress on difficult to solve challenges of our customers
  • Have a passion for working on technologies such as Mobile apps, Enterprise Web apps, APIs, Messaging, Databases, Big Data, or Artificial Intelligence
