JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Analyst is responsible for managing the electronic file set-up for both external and internal customers. This role encompasses the entire development life cycle – requirements gathering, mapping, coding, testing/validation, production. The Senior Analyst acts as liaison between Delta Dental IT and the internal business during enterprise-wide initiatives related to the exchange of electronic data. In addition, this position serves as the primary stakeholder for EEP (Electronic Enrollment Process) as well as EEP associated tools and products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement new feeds through file development life cycle (requirements gathering, mapping, coding, testing, production); creates reformat conversion programs, data mapping routines and code development
Provide support for newly-created feeds until the feed is turned over to assigned EDI Analyst team member for ongoing support
Act as SME representing EDI in feasibility reviews; provide direction to Sales/Onboarding team in handling unique requirements for enrollment/billing/claims/reporting needs
Support EDI Analyst team members and act as consultant for solving file issues as well as file enhancements; assist in providing training and development for EDI Analyst, as requested
Work with IT Development as required by providing business/processing requirements, test cases, test data etc.
Support new product development where there is an EDI impact, attending/participating in conference calls, and gathering requirements
Continuously analyze the EDI transaction process, including setup, configuration, and structure, in order to meet technical compliance standards and to ensure appropriate operating processes are followed; identify process improvements
Document all EDI solutions for system development life cycle, maintain all documents specifications, and develop various transaction specifications per requirements
Assess new tools and/or product releases that have a direct impact on the Electronic Enrollment Process
Act as a primary point of contact for EEP enhancements. Enhancements may involve user and functional requirement adds/changes/deletions and their impact on Delta Dental Standards (i.e. Enterprise Standard File Layout) as well as enhancements to tool/programs (i.e. EEP Console, Metavance)
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in file processing and electronic transactional environments
Expert knowledge and experience with ANSI formats
Strong analytical, problem-solving and logical reasoning skills
Ability to work independently and make decisions with limited oversight
Knowledgeable in Stylus/coding
Ability to multi-task while maintaining excellent attention to detail
Strong organizational/time management skills with the ability to adhere to deadlines and adapt to change in work and priorities
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact well with management, all level of employees and outside contacts including vendors, consultants, auditors, etc.
Ability to perform in a high paced environment with multiple priorities
