As a Senior Business Analyst you will be working as part of one of our Service teams. We have 2 roles based in Citizen Information; one on Care Homes and 1 on Relationships which are both based in Newcastle.
Within Citizen Information we look after a critical national asset, and the personal records of 110 million people. Our services supply citizen information across DWP and beyond. We are working across Digital Group to harness the power of our data and provide quicker access to a richer quality and greater understood sources of data via delivery of new products and shared components for DWP, aligned to the new Application Reference Architecture in support of DWP Strategic Transformation. We aim to create faster and more efficient data sharing in support of proactive and self-service citizen journeys via new products, enabling efficiency opportunities as a result of more accurate benefit assessments. Through enabling improved accuracy in decision making, we will support reducing requirements for debt recovery across DWP, other departments and third party partners, which contributes to DWP Strategic Transformation
We have 1 role in Retirement which can be based in either Newcastle or Leeds. The role is a key member of the Retirement Strategic Design Team. You will support the delivery of Retirement Services focusing on delivering the needs of Agents and Claimants that use and interact services on a daily basis. You will be involved in horizon scanning and service design for Retirement services in the short, medium and long term future. Providing support and coaching for all BAs in Retirement Services ensuring the capability and continuous growth.
Job Description
As a Senior BA working within DWP Digital these are some of the things you will be doing:
You will work on large, complex products or services, or across a number of products or services simultaneously.
You will lead workshops, interviews and focus groups to effectively understand business problems and user needs within large complex products or services.
You will communicate effectively across senior technical and business stakeholders, ensuring the understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria is aligned.
You will understand the business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service whilst developing an understanding of how the product or service aligns with the wider strategy of the department.
You will lead initiatives and champion continual learning & development within the BA community.
You will be a leading member of the BA community, taking on line management responsibilities. Additionally you will play a significant role in capability building and recruitment when required.
You will encourage and promote Agile methodologies, setting standards across the function and working to educate the BA teams working across the functions on Agile principles, methods and tools to support their development.

Salary Information
Salary for this role is from £50,155 (Band min) to £60,781 (Band max).
Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview.
Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.
Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.
This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
