Job Title: AVP – Data Modeller

Treasury Balance Sheet Management technology team supports the Treasury department in management of Liquidity, Funding and Interest rate risk through sourcing of data, calculations and analytics performed which in turn enable business steering, risk control and meeting the bank’s regulatory reporting requirements for Liquidity and Interest rate risk.
The RiBB (Interest rate risk in banking book) team is looking for a Business Functional analyst to join their team to help the team drive through the regulatory reporting requirements around IRRBB.
A key objective of this role is to bridge the gap between the client’s requirements and the technical delivery team and help to successfully deliver projects in an Agile framework within this diverse and challenging space

Your key responsibilities
Position Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- 10+ years of IT experience; as a hands-on technologist
- Flexible – keen to learn new technologies and to extend business domain knowledge
- Expert level of experience on data modelling (conceptual, logical and physical data models).
- Expert on at least one of the standard relational databases, preferably SQL Server or Oracle; and T-SQL, PL-SQL or PG-SQL
- Expert on preferably GCP, or any other cloud platform and corresponding cloud storage, data lake, database, data warehouse
- Expert level of experience on at least one technology from each of the spaces like ETL, reporting and analytics.
- Good understanding of OLTP, OLAP, Big Data, Cloud and distributed computing workloads.
- Experience on APIs and file formats like JSON, AVRO, XML and other text formats.
- Experience on Python for general purpose programming and for data analytics & data science use cases. Preferably on some of the libraries like NumPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib
- Experience on CI/CD, DevOps and code repositories, preferably Jenkins, GitHub
- Good knowledge on SDLC. Experience working with Agile, preferably Scrum/SAFe using Jira.
- Nice to have experience on one of the NO-SQL databases (Mongo DB, Cassandra, HBase etc)
- Previous Banking Domain experience is a plus
- Good problem-solving skills
Must Have Skills
- Should be able to handle hands-on coding and wide variety of data engineering and data modelling tasks.
- Develop code / scripts for relational, no-sql, distributed, cloud workloads/databases/data warehouses, using SQL / Python scripting and for ETL, Reporting, Analytics, AI/ML in various tools & languages; and thus should be flexible to learn new technologies.
- Ability to translate/map relational data models into JSON, AVRO, XML and other data formats.
- Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
- Should have knowledge on various data modelling methodologies.
- Should be knowledgeable on data-warehousing modelling paradigms (like dimensional modelling)
- Should be knowledgeable on various forms of normalization techniques.
- Create logical and physical data models using Deutsche Bank standards to ensure high data quality.
- Maintain, optimize and update conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata using enterprise tools as recommended by Deutsche Bank.
- Adhere to the recommended standards of Deutsche Bank for naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.
- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.
Education/ Qualifications
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
